It's not uncommon to go through one MMORPG beta after another seeing as how we've got a flood of them drowning us at a pace faster than we can breathe.聽 I've played game after game and lately it's been a habit for me to quit 5 minutes after playing.聽 A good example would be Holic Online: there's nothing wrong with the game, but I barely gave it a chance and dropped it before I even got to level 3.聽 I don't know about you all, but I've been on a never-ending quest to find that perfect game to satiate all my desires.

聽聽聽 I've gone through many games that had the potential to draw me in, turn me into a mindless drone, destroy my life and toss me aside after they had their way with me.聽 All games have "potential" but none of them ever become more than just a grind fest that'd put ground beef factories to shame as they question their production methods.聽 Perhaps it's my own fault for avoiding P2P games and playing games that are in a beta testing stage, but I can't help it.聽 Like many of you avid MMORPgamers, I'm a penny pincher; I lack the financial income to pay $12 a month and I'm not proud of it either.聽 Okay, I'm lying and I can actually afford that amount, but why should I pay for it when it'll either not be to my liking or I'll just end up quitting 2 months down the road?聽 I'm starting to get off track here and I'll save it for another time.聽 The point is: all these games coming out are way too similar to warrant a playthrough.

聽聽聽 How many times do we need to level up to God (or deity of your choice) knows where and hit that apex, ultimately losing all interest as we've "beaten" the game and have nothing left to do but sit around and socialize forever?聽 We've done this all before; I've killed hordes of monsters, ransacked them for all they're worth, stole their rares and beaten them into submission in not just one game but a plethora of games.聽 They're all the same when you take a step back and look past the fancy graphics and different overworld.聽 You're back to level 1; you're beating up the baddies; you gain extreme amounts of exp; you make new friends; you quit.聽 Let me just digress for a bit and say that I abuse the semi colon more than a drunken, low-wage salaryman coming home to find his wife cheating on him.聽 Okay, anyway, I'm back--we're all fans of MMORPG's and I'm sure we're getting tired of a rehash of the last game we played.

Bananas

聽聽聽 So when will we find that sacred jewel in the rough, that game that just grabs us from our reality and eats away our soul?聽 I still haven't found what I'm looking for and maybe I never will.聽 Perhaps all this gaming has desensitized me, and now everything, no matter how innovative and different, is just a pile of garbage that only newbies will enjoy like flies to a cow patty.聽 Perhaps I'm getting "old" and it's time for me to grow up and play that game we call life.聽 But even if that's the case, I'll still be searching.聽 I've tasted the ever-so-sweet flavor of a memorable MMORPG, and I'll continue the quest as I wade through clone after clone for a new home.

Bleh, i also have this feeling. Why do they think a succesfull formula never has to be drastically changed, as well? We aren't the people of those times anymore. Probably because there are also new generation kids, to steal money from. But the thing is, they don't look at mmos to please audiences, but to make cash, which can explain the cloning... They look at the money for all i know.

Sorry, i just wanted to ocmment here, sincei just got the same feeling from every mmo ever made... Even if it is florensia, it is still the same thing i have done already. Money does not like us.

Well, at least for my two cents.

Yeah, I'm gonna try Mabinogi for a bit. I've played the CB and pre-OB and I still need to see if that game will hold my attention.

I have the same situation, but i think i've found the one, Mabinogi. If that doesnt work out, ill just go and dedicate my life to becoming stronger and being more skilled IRL instead. GL in your search

It really ends up feeling the same after so many games. I think it'd be nice to go back to those newbie days but then I can see myself glued to my computer if that happened.

i guess we r in almost the same situation.....

ive also a short time span for every mmorpg(or at least give it a revisit once in awhile)

ever since flyff (which is bout 4 years ago)no other mmorpg has taken my intrest as deeply as flyff(and runescape)....

it just goes to show that the more u play...the more u see.....the more u expect .....leading to higher and higher expectations which end up making you(and me) very demanding and hard to please

Oh, and I actually did give it a chance again. I reinstalled it and played it for quite a while so that explains why the screenie shows lvl 20 whatever even though I said I quit at 3.
