The Church of England are currently exploring their legal options to sue Sony for their unauthorized use of the Manchester Cathedral in Resistance: Fall of Man. Now, before you go on reading and saying to yourself, "This is a ridiculous money grab" (which is what I virtually did), there are some interesting facts surrounding this which might shape future development of real world locations.

The Church of England have requested an immediate apology from Sony and demanded that the game be removed from sale. Just note that the game has sold over a million copies around the world, which is a fair number in anyone\'s books. Also, the Church have asked that Sony make a substantial donation for the Church\'s youth work and,

"that Sony do not re-issue it without modifying the section of the game to remove the cathedral interior,"

a letter to Sony stated. The basis of their youth work involves,

"resisting the culture of gun crime and other forms of violence in our society".
