World of Warcraft, watch out: LEGO has its eyes on your MMO prize. The LEGO Group today debuted new artwork and details about LEGO Universe, a massively multiplayer online game.
LEGO Universe will let gamers have a hand in literally building their in-game universe. Although LEGO games (LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones, LEGO Batman) have been popular on consoles, this is the first LEGO MMO. The game will bring the LEGO play experience online, encouraging creativity and collaboration between fans all over the world. Within LEGO Universe, players will be able to create, build, quest and socialize together. As LEGO avatars, of course. In LEGO Universe, players will be able to build anything from LEGO bricks, including their own avatar. Buying bricks and building involves "money," of course, but in a very LEGO sense: the game's currency is plastic, with players them use to buy bricks. Players can also find bricks in the persistent world, gain them by defeating enemies and completing challenges, or discover them a la treasure. Lego Universe will be released for PC in 2009. We have the first pieces of concept art from the game, as you can see below. You can click any of the

I am a big video games fan, I am also a big Prison Break fan. But somethings just don't mix so well. Thats right, there is a Prison Break game in the making for the PS3 and Xbox360. The game is set to release early next year and is being developed by Brash, which doesn't have a record of ground breaking games. Brash Entertainment have announced they will be releasing a TV-to- game adaptation of Prison Break on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 early next year. The announcement came via a flyer packed in with the US release of the Season 3 DVD boxset of the show. A Brash Entertainment representative remarked to Gamespot that the game was indeed real, but he refused to offer additional information on the title. Previous game by Brash were Alvin and the Chipmunks (which was bad), Jumper: Griffin’s Story (it was bad to), and then a game based on Space Chimps (which was not good either). We still hold some hope for Prision Break though, mainly so we can play as T-Bag. http://www.gamegrep.com/outbound.php?newsid=12449

1. Heavy Rain (Sony, PS3), by Quantic Dream published by Sony: I signed my life away to promise I wouldn't reveal any details about this game. In fact I'm told Sony ninjas will hit me with poison shurikens before I can type the words to describe it, so I will simply say it's by far the most impressive thing I saw at E3. The first video below came out two years ago as a tech demo of Quantic Dream's animation system. The second video shows off what their system is capable of today. This isn't coming for a while yet but looks like it's going to be extremely interesting. 2. Fallout 3 (Bethesda Softworks, 360, PC, PS3): If The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion was a little too orcs 'n swords for your taste (it was for mine), this revival of the classic post-apocalyptic RPG franchise will give you a chance to experience Bethesda's brand of open-world hotness. Born in an underground fallout shelter, you step outside for the first time as an adult -- into a world that's been picking up the pieces of nuclear holocaust for decades. 3. Left 4 Dead (Valve/EA, 360, PC): We've seen a zombie or two in the years we've spent playing games, but we've never seem them like this. Fast and brutal, the

Well, the rumors are true- there will be a Star Trek MMO developed by the guys who brought you City of Heros. Kotaku has the screenshots to prove it. That job listing was correct. City of Heroes developer Cryptic Studios is working on a Star Trek MMO, and its got the screenshots to prove it. Dubbed Star Trek Online, the game will be based on the Star Trek franchise. Says Cryptic chief creative officer Jack Emmert: Star Trek was never about a single character, ship or even planet; Star Trek was always about an entire universe. And MMORPGs are uniquely suited to create such a thing and allow players to explore every inch.

After a one-time stint in Santa Monica, the 14th annual Electronic Entertainment Expo returned to the Los Angeles Convention Center this year, and so too did its lineup of great-looking games. In truth, the sheer volume of high-caliber software surprised us given the more underwhelming presentation of the show when compared to previous seasons, but perhaps it was that lack of whizz-bang hoopla that made the companies' impressive game lineups that much sweeter.

Naturally, given our own obsession with videogaming, we've put together a list of the best games that the invite-only show had to offer so that you, the IGN faithful, know exactly what cool games to look for in the coming months and years ahead. As an added bonus, we've even included specialized platform-specific lists for the PC, PlayStation 3, PSP, Wii, DS and Xbox 360 crowd as a supplement our overall awards. That way everyone, no matter what their console preference, knows what cool games struck our fancy most. document.write(" "); The criteria we use to pick our E3 favorites are simple. With the exception of Best Non-Playable Presentation and Special Achievement in Innovative Design, all &quo

Two friends were sitting down, playin' some GTA IV on their 360. The owner of the 360 kept taunting his buddy that a PC version of GTA IV isn't coming out, so he decided to pull a little prank on Rockstar. They sent an e-mail giving problems about trying to play GTA IV on the PC, using an all-in-one TV/Computer so Rockstar would pay some attention to it. They got an e-mail saying that "The PC version of GTA IV has not even been announced for release and is still in development so is not about to be released on a website we have no knowledge of." So, is a PC version of GTA IV coming? If you don't believe the emails in the source, check out the screenshots.

It was a PSP version when I first faced to it. Searching the boss's weaknesses all night until the battery ran out, training the skill after the tumbles from the heavy artillery fire of a tank... It is the FPS now, but it is still real to me. In such a simulated environment, one would have an immersed sense.

The announcement of the SCI FI Channel MMOG has made a number of us come out and reaffirm our inner geek. A vast number of MMOG aficionados are also SCI FI channel fans, and so this combination seems like a match made in heaven. Luckily, our resident humorist Coyote thought so too and wrote up an article to test your funny bone. Check it out! An Editorial by Coyote, Ten Ton Hammer's Resident Humorist For those of us of a more virginal background, the SCI FI Channel has long been our mistress. She's been there through the good, dragged us through the bad, and has shown us worlds that lay somewhere in between.. Yet no matter how rocky our relationship has been in the past, we still turn to her for comfort and the occasional late night alien encounter booty call. And now we're about to take our relationship to the next level. The SCI FI Channel has announced a partnership with Trion World Network that promises to bring us what we've all hoped for and feared at the same time: a SCI FI Channel based MMOG. And while the details of this unholy union are still vague, I consider myself well enough versed in the world of Sci-Fi to bring you an educated guess on exactly WHAT this MMOG will be

Blizzard’s VP of game design, Rob Pardo, was asked about the possibility of the developer creating the next Warcraft 4 real-time strategy (RTS) game in the popular series. While the MMORPG World of Warcraft has over 10 million subscribers, the franchise started out in the RTS genre, so will it be returning to its RTS roots? In an interview from last year he answered:
“Yeah, of course there’s a chance,” he confirmed. “The way that we develop things, each time a development team becomes available, because they’re done with creating the games that they’ve been doing, they have a lot of say over what their next game is. So what it would take is for one of our teams to decide that they want to make Warcraft RTS and of course, there’ll be some talk about doing that and I’m sure after StarCraft 2 ships, it will be one the ideas on the table for that team to do, but that’s pretty far off in the future and it would really be determined by a combination of the dev team and the company leadership.” Mr. Pardo continued: “I think that one of the things that makes us ultimately successful as a company is that we’re more
