I will borrow some words from the author, Thomas Lane:
Type "free games" into an internet search engine, and you'll find literally thousands of links to classics such as Pacman and Space Invaders.
This week, however, these games are joined by an unusual addition.
Rather than chasing ghosts or fighting aliens, Against All Odds guides the gamer through the experience of being a refugee.
The game was designed by workers in the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Its various challenges include escaping from a hostile town, guiding your character across a dangerous border and staying alive in foreign lands with unfamiliar languages.
To my knowledge, this is the first attmpt of a global organization to produce an educational game.
And it's a worthy attempt.
Take the role of a refugee and try to survive in a hostile enviroment. You got no no weapons, no friends, no family, no country. You are all alone. And you must survive.
How much are you willing to sacrifice to complete this game? Or how much will you sacrifice in a real situation like this?
Throughout the game, you face the goverment, the army, the police... all trying to subdue you into their beliefs.
You think you have freedom of speech?
You think all people are equal?
You think your vote is your weapon?
You think its natural to have a meal everyday?
Or dress in clean clothes?
Or have the right to express yourself openly?
I am guessing, most of us are used to being free. And we have no second thoughts on this. Think again people.
You will be terryfied when you play this game and see the facts.
Note: as game states, it is based on true facts, gatherd from UN. No matter how extreme these facts seemed, we can assume they stand true. UN

Note: after each scene in game, please watch the UN facts..... then start reconsidering your (our) way of life and standards.
