Madara Uchiha

Madara Uchiha (うちはマダラ, Uchiha Madara) founded the Uchiha clan during the early days of Konoha. "Madara" means "mottles" or "speckles". For unknown reasons he battled and was defeated by the First Hokage at the Valley of the End; a monument of their battle stands in tribute to the two shinobi at the Valley of the End. Jiraiya suspects that Madara summoned the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox to attack Konoha years before the start of the series, though the age Madara would have been at the time brings this assumption into question. Nevertheless, the demon fox seems to be familiar with Madara, comparing Sasuke Uchiha's eyes and chakra to that of Madara's. Akatsuki member Tobi refers to himself as Madara Uchiha, the mastermind behind the organization.
