Quests

From memory, there are a few types of quests.

1. Kill X ammount of monster Y.

2. Kill monster X to get Z of item Y.

3. Kill monster X to get item Y.

4. Talk to person A, B, C, D, (it goes on).

5. Talk to Person A, B, C, D and do a dungeon.

In dungeons, there is a time limit, and a specified objective. Mostly you just kill all monsters. Anyways, once time runs out you lose the dungeon. Sometimes there are mazes, in which you pass easily. Also, sometimes dungeons contain "crystal seals", seals that protect the door. Kill these to proceed on.

Sometimes, quests ask you to call a specific rare monster. Usually they have + in their name. So far, the only ones I know from beta include hunting these 2.

Armaku+: Spawns near the Tower of Sages research camp. It's right on the <--- side if you face straight at the entrance.

Scorp Lug+: Spawns near north of the Bloody Ice town.

Highzard: Spawns near bugzards;usually on the little island.

Black Snake: Spawns near the puddle of water near Giant Snakes.

Upgrading.

The upgrading system is quite simple, really.

To upgrade, you MUST have a slotted item..

Anyways, after you talk to a Core Alchemist and click upgrade, there are 3 boxes. Item, Upgrade Cores, and Catalyst. The item area is for the slotted item you wish to upgrade. Upgrade cores, MUST have atleast one force core. The other 2 slots are free, but theres only one force core per slot. Each upgrade core, I believe ups the + stat of the item. Catalyst, is basically the same class of armor (where it is worn, and what kind) as the initial upgrade item with a slot as well. If you add it to your upgrade item, it yields better success rate, and extra stats. The higher level the quality of the same piece of equipment with a slot; the better the stat and success rate. You can only use 1 catalyst per upgrade.

Armor

There are 3 kinds of armor. They have their own stats.

Martial suit: High defense rate, low defense.

Battlesuit: Balanced between both evenly.

Armorsuit: High defense, low defense rate.

Defense is the counter act against attack;it lowers damage. Defense rate is evasion.

Sometimes, armors have a + on them. This means they have better stats, but more stat requirements. The max possible, I believe is +9 (+5 base 2 slot 1 force 2 upgrade each slot 1 catalyst each upgrade 2 upgrades=+9 with 2 force attributes.) As items get higher +, they will glow in the inventory screen but not on the game screen.

This applies for weapons, too. Also, +X items sell for more to NPC then regulars.

Comboing.

Comboing is quite simple, really. Heres a quick explantion.

1. Click a mob.
2. Hit combo.
3. A gauge will appear at top. Do not spam a skill til it goes in the L area.
____________________________________
l...................................l............L .............l

Once it does, press a skill, and you're character will attack. Simply keep repeating that. But, if you use a skill while it's cooling down, or before the first l, or after it passes the second l, the combo cancels. With more skills available for use, you can combo more. But you really only need 4 skills to get an infinite combo, which is hard to do. The closer to the L you stop the bar at; the better rating+damage you get. Theres "Bad, Good and Excellent."

Now, heres a hard part. Comboing and killing more then one mob. After training awhile at a certain mob, you'd know how much damage the next skill it would do. If the next skill kills that mob, after pressing it and allowing it to cast, quickly click another mob, and continue the combo. I've gotten 15 hits 7 kills before;its quite easy (Except at 11, the combo requirement is around right here.

l................................................. ..........lLl

But, remember, practice makes perfect.

Training

In CABAL, there really is no specific place to train. Just quest, and when you run out, train on yellow/orange mobs. So stop asking, damnit. But, just a reminder, EXP is gained on hits, not after you kill. The stronger your skills, the more exp you get. After the mob turns dark yellow, it gives less exp. If it's orange or red, it gives more exp then normal.

Stats

Str: Raises weapon attack.
Int: Raises magic attack.
Dex: Raises hit rate; defense rate and weapon attack a bit.

Weapon Attack: Multiplier in how much you do with sword skills.

Magic Attack: Multiplier in how much you do with magic skills.

Hit Rate: Basically your accuracy. Also adds critical hit chance.

Defense: Reduces damage taken.

Defense Rate: Evasion basically.

MP: Mana Points. Top left blue bar auto refills with pots.

HP: Hit points. Top left red bar, you gotta fill it yourself.

SP: Skill points. Top left yellow bars; increases as you deal damage.

Growth: The stats you need (Base, without items) to achieve requirement to do the battle style level up.

Game Mechanincs

Currently, the only mechanic I know is that skills are instant. The cast time is basically just an add on to the cool down time, and when your character can use another skill. When you attack or use a skill, it's instant, but the animation isn't. So, if you used a 10+ second cast time skill on a person with 1 hp, they'd die after 10 seconds in animaton, but they actually died instantly. They are not able to move, pot, or attack you after you cast it when they're fatal. This is called a Skill Lock.

Conclusion

Well, thats it. I hoped it help all you newbies, this is probably my final gift to the European CABAL, since im from NA. :/
