Alright my friends, here is my review for the new MMO that just went into close beta called Wonderland online.

I heard about this game last weekend when I was talking to one of my friends over vent.  He was like "hey do you like turn based RPG's, because I just found a turn based MMO."  I was like hey, those types of games are quite awesome, ill give it a shot.  Now at the moment, for those of you who are thinking of playing before the open beta comes out, you will need to do a couple of things.

First go to mmorpg.com and make a account if you don't already have one

next after you logged in and activated your account there should be a banner on the front page saying something like 10,000 beta key giveaway for wonderland online and click it and get your code.  Last time i checked there where about 2,000 or so keys left.

After that go to the Wonderland site and create your free account and download the client and your good to go!

The closed beta officially started on Wednesday at 10pm for me(Don't remember the actual time it started via the time zone). And from there I got a good first glimpse of what the game was like.

When you first enter the game and get to the menu screen, it almost gives it a sort of Ragnarok online feel.  There menu song isn't as slow as Ragnarok's but it almost feels as if it was a tune right from the Ragnarok. Once you pick your server( which there is only one as of now) you will than log in and pick a character. There are 12 characters that you can choose from, yes i know this game comes with pre-made characters, but you can customize to your liking with colors. Each character also comes with a unique special move that can greatly help them out in battle. So check out  the characters and pick which one that you might like, ill provide a link.

So after you make your character and customize the way that you want( I forgot to add that you also pick the characters attribute that you learn spells from) your character will start out on a ship. The graphics and art style will some what remind you of once again Ragnarok, but it still has a very distinctive feel. After talking to the captain, you end up going into a cut scene and you end up on an island.  Take the chest behind the man and get a raft and than use it to go to the next area.  Interact with the monkey in the tree and you end up getting your first Pet! (So far I am level 9 and I have encountered quite a few pets, which include actual people).  Form there, well get your friends and explore that's when it's up to you.

What makes this game for me, is the battle system.  It almost feels like I am playing an old style turn based rpg game.  It's fast paced and crazy, especially when your entire team totally destroys one monster.  At some points during the battle everyone will jump in and attack, that is if you targeted that enemy.  I have no idea what decides if everyone jumps in or not, but it is highly amusing. You have your typical  options of skills, normal, defense, like you would in those old games so it feels oddly familiar.
 
The skill tree is also interesting.  For each skill there is 3 levels (Attack, Hit, and beating) so although it may not seem that there are a lot of skills, each one has2 more levels. I will provide I link to to the skill tree page so you can check it out.

A few things I don't like:

When your in battle, and you don't have a full party, people can join the battle.  It's not bad, but if you don't want anyone to interfere it can get annoying.

when you get quests, remember what the person said to do cause there is nothing that keeps track of it.

there is to many people at the moment.  There are only two servers, they need to add more.
