The Ship 2 Sailing to X360 and PC

UK, August 30, 2007 - Scottish developer Outerlight has revealed that its sylish and well-received adventure game The Ship is in development for Xbox 360 and PC, plus it's been signed by an as-yet-unannounced "large publisher".

For those of you who haven't heard of The Ship, it's a mix of third-person and first-person action that sees you exploring a cruise liner. Your aim is to hunt down fellow passengers armed with a range of weaponry, in a bid to become the last person alive. It was fairly well received by critics and the public alike and scored a decent 7.4 here on IGN.

As for the sequel though, it was unveiled by Outerlight's operations director Alisa Bates during a special edition of the excellent videogame show Consolevania. If you're interested, you can check out the episode in question - which is all about the Scottish games industry - at the Consolevania website.

Speaking about the The Ship 2, Alisa said: "We have literally just signed a deal for the sequel. So for most of this year we have been thinking about the sequel, thinking about art style and thinking what the game might be. This has been signed by quite a large publisher but we are not able to tell you who they are right now."
