i saw an interesting picture about mmo.
it's from a news - Funny MMOvie In The Works from http://www.wanderinggoblin.com/ How far would you goto make a 2-hour machinima? One New York-based programmer, AJ Loiacono has paid over 10,000 gold in World of Warcraft to keep other players off his "set", and $200 (real US dollars) a day to player "extras" for their time. For the past few months, New York-based programmer A.J. Loiacono and his buddies have been logging onto the popular online sword-and-sorcery game "World of Warcraft" a little more often than usual.
But they're not visiting the mythical realm of Azeroth to goof around and fight the game's virtual dragons like the rest of the game's 9 million subscribers. They've got work to do, you see. They're making a movie.
Using a high-end Mac to record the action, Loiacono's buddies log on from their computers and control their game-character avatars to act out scenes from the team's original script, a sci-fi comedy thing about a guy who travels through time to save his people. The film, still in production, is set for an online-only release next spring.
Right about now people all over Azeroth are plotting and

It seems that Guild Wars is quite the festive MMO this Halloween. The guild EOA is now sponsoring an event they're calling "Mad Queen Malafide's Halloween Give Away", and it's apparently quite the extravaganza. The Mad Queen (and her little army of elves) has a lengthy history in Guild Wars, as she's regularly giving away gifts, wreaking havoc, and otherwise upsetting the apple cart. Of course, everyone loves it.
Yes, the Queen is quite a lovely lass. You can find out all the details at the GW:Incgamers site along with some of the reminisces of the queen's past endeavors. If that's not enough Halloween fun for you, don't forget to meet with the other mad monarch of Guild Wars, Mad King Thorn. In addition, feel free to mix it up a bit in the Costume Brawl. The official site has the details of both of those events, currently being ravenously enjoyed by the 4 million or so GW players.

Tabula Rasa, the sci-fi shooter MMO, launches November 2nd. It's Richard Garriot's newest enterprise, and it's a pretty sweet, innovative MMO. We've played the beta and even written a preview of the game. Also on November 2nd, Stargate Atlantis airs it's newest episode. Guess what -- it's called Tabula Rasa. We're pretty sure this is simply happenstance, as the show has nothing to do with the game, and because Stargate has already been licensed in efforts produce a potentially competing MMO. The whole thing does strike us as odd, however, since the phrase "tabula rasa" (meaning 'blank slate' in Latin) doesn't crop up in normal conversation every day. Or ever.
In discussing this with the other Wandering Goblin staffers, they've voiced the opinion that either the Illuminati or Dick Cheney is responsible for this.

EA has gone off the deep end. They've laid off most of their Ultima Online team and pissed off a bunch of employees. Yikes! Apparently things in the EA Mythic household are much worse than they appear. Here's what Tensor, a former EA employee has to say: "There is nothing to lose for me to post this and I admit I feel bitter, so why not let you know the truth? Alot of the UO team was laid off today including me and all of QA. We were escorted out of the building and not even allowed to email our goodbye email to everyone else. They even had managers watching us the whole time like we had done something wrong.
Most of the engineers are already working on Warhammer. Most of the rest of the UO team is not going to Virginia. Only one person is moving fore sure and maybe one or two more are considering it too. That's it. Almost all of the famous devs are not going. Almost everyone on the list posted earlier by someone is not going to Virginia for sure. Early December is when everyone who does not move to Virginia is laid off too. I hope that something I did for UO is something that you found fun. We really did try to do our best. Maybe I will see you all in another not EA game soon!" Dest
