0 Digg it    Voyage Century Online's city-building update coming soon, rules released
  Views: 111  |  Category : public |  Post time : Apr 21, 2008    Comments: 0  |  Bookmark
Here's a heads up for all of you who play IGG's Voyage Century Online. There's a news update relating to the rules for the upcoming city-building system update.

Basically, guild members can all participate in the city-building, though the actual building process and leveling of a city is determined by the leader or vice leader of a guild. All guild members have to do is find the construction minister and pay a leveling fund, as well as bring some needed equipment to level up the port. Once the port is ready to level up, leaders or vice-leaders can then increase the level of the port, granting the port a development point.

Before you start thinking about hyper-levelling your ports, you might want to remember one last rule the devs have put in place. This is a cooling time rule, which means that newly-developed ports can't level up until a certain length of time has passed. Crafty, right?

In any event, you may want to stock up on the essentials so you can go grinding for items needed to level up your port in preparation for the rush of guild members who'll be trying to do the same once the update goes live. We wish you the best of luck though, as you set sail for bountiful plunde

0 Digg it    Some updates in Entropia Universe

MPOGD recently took a look at the fascinating online cosmos known as Entropia Universe just after the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Fast forwarding to the Game Developers Conference, we decided to stop for a chat with John Bates, the Business Development and Strategic Marketing at MindArk’s Entropia Universe, to check on the latest updates from this rapidly evolving and growing virtual world.

Creative Kingdom (CKI), an international architectural firm behind several spectacular themed resorts and hotels, is pairing up with the Thai government in creating a massive $7 billion multimedia and IT complex called “Cyber City”. Before that monumental complex ever sees the light of day, a vision of CKI’s finished project will set sail online within Entropia as a dedicated planet, complete with a virtual world economy that’s been the signature feature of Entropia since its launch. “CKI is the first confirmed group we have working with us who are from a completely creative background,” Bates added. “We’re as interested as anyone else to see how they use their architectural and creative skills in building a planet from the ground up.”

Bates also excitedly shared a glimpse inside other s

0 Digg it    Age of Conan Beta Update
  Views: 37  |  Category : Default |  Post time : Oct 14, 2007    Comments: 0  |  Bookmark

FunCom released a bunch of new Age of Conan screens to go along with this beta update that discusses what they have planned for server centers, plus what's up with the open beta.

At the same time we are now deploying a large amount of additional machines to our main server structures. This means that we are getting ready for larger-scale Beta deployment! We now have the hardware, the set-up (and an awesome game;) ready for larger scale testing! As a result of this we are also getting ready to start inviting thousands and thousands (and thousands) into our Beta programs. As we progress with this new stage of the Beta we expect to get lots of constructive feedback on the general gameplay, and we hope that the testers will also love this iteration of the new combat system. This testing will in turn lead to adding tens and tens of thousands of testers as we move over to the new year. This is surely great news, and for you in the community it means that we are escalating our invitation process. For those of you we have defined as “veterans” (which have not gotten a Beta invite yet), we are looking to send an invitation within the next few weeks. As we have stated before it is a goal for
