How Our Beta Process Works
We wanted to take a few minutes to talk about how we run our Beta tests, the differences of and timing for getting builds out to the testers, and basically let you in on what makes our test tick.
Our development path is quite different from that of the vast majority of game developers. We utilize what we call an organic process, which is basically shorthand for our way of constantly iterating, tweaking, tuning, and making changes that are difficult to set months or years ahead of time in a traditional design document. The Final Fantasy XI Online (Xbox 360, PC) Harvest Festival has already begun and the event will continue until November 1. During this time players can visit various event stalls, get new abilities and items from costumed NPCs, as well as take part in the Wake of the Lilies quest.
If you want to pay a visit to the event stalls, you can find them in Northern San d'Oria (D-8), Port Bastok (L-8), and Windurst Waters (G-10). Each one carries various treats and items for your characters. Players can also trade sweets to various costumed NPC to gain the ability to dress-up like a monster or a beastman, and receive some Harvest Festival items.
The Wake of Lillies is similar to last year's Dark Lilies quest and can be completed once every Vana'diel day. Players who wish to take part in this can find the NPCs which will give you the quest in these locations: Northern San d'Oria (D-8), Bastok Markets (G-8), and Windurst Waters (F-5).
Both new and old players will probably enjoy the change of pace from the usual events in Vana'diel. So log on and enjoy the Final Fantasy XI Online Harvest Festival.

The Unofficial Hellgate London website is reporting that Flagship Studios' hack-n-slash (or maybe shoot and explode) RPG, Hellgate London has gone gold and a single player demo will be released tomorrow. Demons of London beware! Your reign of terror is officially coming to an end! Electronic Arts, Namco Bandai Games, and Flagship Studios are excited to announce that Hellgate™: London has gone to gold master and will be available exclusively for the PC on October 31st in North America and November 2nd in Europe.
"This has been an amazing journey for us and we couldn't be more proud of what we've accomplished," said Flagship Studios CEO, Bill Roper. "We're anxious to get Hellgate: London into gamers' hands and we can't wait to play right along with them."
