Dance! Online - Best Dance Game?

That's right! Dance! online might just be the best dancing game out there. From it's graphics, to it's gameplay, Dance! Online really delivers the main point of the game - dance. The main concept of the game is very simple. First off, players go into rooms where they are presented with various game modes: Multiplayer, Superstar, Boys vs Girls, Couples, River Notes, and Reverse Notes. Multiplayer is the basic version, where players dance it out for the number one spot. Superstar mode is basically Multiplayer mode, only one difference. When you hit notes - a small bar right above the note area goes up. When you reach a certain point, you can press the space bar and the game will automatically hit the notes with "perfects" for a certain amount of time. A great way to rack up some points when your behind. Boys vs Girls is just as the name implies. One boy and one girl take turns battling each other one at a time. The team with the highest combined score from each player wins. Couples mode is a mode where two lovers (or friends), dance with each other, and racks up combined points to win. It's similar to Boys vs Girls, but it's sort of a tag-team version. River Notes is my personal favorite. It's when the arrow screen is transformed into a "Guitar Hero" looking screen. (To bad I can't use a Guitar Hero guitar!). Now, probably the hardest mode to hit some combos with is Reverse Notes. It's basically Multiplayer, but on occasion, some notes are highlighted with a yellow outline, inferring that the note is reversed. That tells the player that he has to hit the opposite key. As for the songs, there aren't many songs, but they make up for it by putting some pretty awesome songs. Ranging from rap to rock, you will find a song you will love to dance to. The game also has a dance-pad feature, so you can get your groove on with your dance-pad. Your character is also a big feature in this game. The game implements many of the latest trends for your character that you can wear, you will find something that you will love to dress your character. A very questionable feature is the calorie mode. Basically, the more you dance, the more fit you will be. If you log out and don't come back in weeks, your character will become obese. Of course, they have ways to revert your character to normal. (Only fair, what if you were on vacation with no computer?), so you can just buy a potion to change your character from Jared before Subway, to Nicole Richie. Now, here's my basic ratings:

Gameplay: 8/10

The gameplay is the best from a dance game I've ever played, however, if you play like a maniac (like I do), the songs can become very repetitive, so you can either wait for them to update new songs, live with it, or try a new game.

Graphics: 9/10

The graphics are wonderful, ranging from the glow to your character, to the outfits you can wear. This is one of the most highly detailed dance games out there.

Community: 7/10

I gave this one a lower score than the others because some people in the game don't speak English, or are just plain rude. Also, I heard there are some hackers in the game. (I am not 100% sure, but hey, anything is possible.)

I hope you enjoyed my take on this game, and I will update it when I collect more information. Until my next blog!

Sincerely,

Phuax
