
In my opinion, it seems to be harder to level up and make friends, unless you already have them on stand-by for your new MMO. Me, in many cases, and many other people I've come into contact to have experienced this. Let me guide you through.
You (the gamer) download a pretty sweet looking MMORPG. ----> You install and make an account ----> Login ----> Wonder around, trying to get a feel of the game. ----> You level up for a while, only to come to find out that the only way to level faster is to kill monsters of a high level, in which can only be completed with a party ----> You struggle for hours looking for someone to play with.
Or
----> You find someone to play with, only to come to realize they don't speak your language or they quit early on you.
Now, you, the gamer, are furious, and you decide to get some real life/internet friends to play with you. They do, and you seem to level up. Now suppose one day your friend is away for some reason, and you want to meet some new friends. You see a group of people and walk up to them and say "Hello." in a normal response, you get a "Hi...." More like "Get away from us, noob."
