On my new pastime:  Perfect World 

It's been like 3 weeks now since I took Perfect World a bit seriously, tossing some like 4-8 dedicated hours trying to wrestle through the game's rigorous grind.  Role-playing as a Fa Shih (PW's class for a spellcaster) named Coheed, I've gone from level 1 to 32 in such a sluggish pace that the game sometimes lulls me to sleep.  (Maybe I've gotten so used to RF's brisk levelling speed. *shrugs*)

At least the game's free-to-play, demanding less pressure in playtime management.

Now, let's talk about routine.  Partying together with GP pals, Erick, Eivan, plus a few old friends, Smack and KuyaMands, we battle daily through numerous, recycled monsters (the baby bear, mama bear, and papa bear mobs syndrome of MMORPGS), whack mini-bosses silly, run tedious errands for quest NPCs, and search for materials needed to craft/upgrade our characters' equipment.  Wash, rinse, repeat.

Thank God for the in-game Item Mall, though.  At least I can get some of my crafting mats without spending too much time gathering them. 

Despite the monotonous gameplay, PW's captivating graphics and impressive duel system are rewarding enough to keep me hooked until my character probably hits his late 40s.  I'm looking forward to joining clan and territory wars in the future. 

I have to admit that the Chinese theme and character double-jump feature were somewhat cheesy at first, but everything grew on me as I spent more time exploring the vast, colorful, Asian-inspired lands of Perfect World. 

Uhm, everything except for that annoying, "baduy" romance theme Toni Gonzaga keeps on singing everytime I'm in the main city.  Ewww.  Somebody ought to shut her up!!  O_o
