Aye, matey! Welcome aboard the florensia, the newest pirate MMO in the waters of the internet. Well, you can call it that way, and maybe my introductions to articles are short, i need to work on it. So, here we go, with review of this game.
I'm home
Well then, let's start off by saying this isn't a normal MMORPG, allthough it kind of is. Well, for the most part it's a normal one. What you do is quest, click on monsters to kill them, become stronger, get more armor, rinse and repeat. Sounds kind of bland, huh? But i can tell you that the graphics(if you have a good graphic card(recommended 256 mb internal memory)) are actually good, or decent, depending on your taste. The animations of battle are also fluid, and feels like the characters themselves are actually fighting for once. Well, you won't see dodge animations, but what you see is a very good show.
You cannot see it here, but the animation is very fluid.
What also makes me feel at home here, is that there are character classes that are familiar to me. Now, even though they have different names, they are still traditional to the genre as a whole. We have the explorer, the equivalent of an archer, the mercenary, your typical knight, the noble, your magician and the saint, that one must be obvious. The classes are quite diverse, you can create all those classes from the start(you can create 5 characters), so you can basically try them all out. This is another good decision on their part, since you can see which class suits you. Unless you are a doubter at times, like me.
Like i said, if you got a good graphic card, you will enjoy this game, since it's style is very warm, fluid, and feels like there was a lot of love put behind it. Allthough, 'armor' isn't quite the same for girls, but i'll run with it. The environments look very nice, you can even hear the sound effects of the nature surrounding you. The reason i am saying all this, is because it contributes to the style of this game. which does enhance the fun of it. But i need to say that for certain cards, that are under the recommendation, will make the texture go strange at times.
The ocean's funNow, the reason i call it a bit different from MMOs(allthough, that goes for all MMOs) is that it got the sea. Now, you probably know that tales of pirates, or king of pirates, does use it, but it's nothing more than just a gimmick, even though yo ucan say the same about this game.
You fight the enemies like you do on land, which is the same gameplay. But The difference in florensia is that you are in control of the ship, making attacks whenever you want.(even if you waste it) Now, before you start yelling that the start is expensive, it is all but that. It also enriches the gameplay, it makes you stay on your toes, during the voyages.
the sea battles are fun enough, but sure about it, i'm not.
The ships themselves are build in the docks. This isn't very complicated, another good thing. it's like equipping yourself with armor and weapons. But you need to go there first. For experienced, this should pose no problems at all. And if yo uneed to ask, consult the help guide first.
My ship, in the docking area. The interface is very intuitive.
information
This brings me to another point. They have made a help guide within the game. Granted, it's all in english, but the detail in it is very good. You will know everything about the game, if you consult it. Maybe some thing will stay unknown, but the help guide is very good for first time players of an MMO. Another plus in this, is the key map button. Clicking this button will show you all the short keys you can use in the game. It is very helpfull, because you don't have to figure it out by yourself.
ConclusionIn short, the game is easy to get it, looks very good, and has some nice gameplay touches. Granted, the gimmick of sailing is still there, but done in a way that is fun. First-timers won't have much trouble with it, unless they just don't know english, or aren't very good at it. But, since this is the global version of florensia, you will be certain to find players that can tell you about it.
I don't know how long i will last, but if this keeps up, and i get very involved in the community, i will end up playing it for pretty long.
However, there is a complaint about the quest system, but the stability of the server(next to no lag(it's a CB, duh)) makes up for it.
Note that this is in closed beta, but in april, the 2nd phase will start. Well, i just encourage you guys to try and play it.
PS: sorry, but this sounds alot like a review. So,聽 i will let it be like that. But i will come back on this, after i have experienced more of the game.
