Atlantica Online review
Category: Default Game: Atlantica Online Posted on Apr 15, 2009 6:28 am
Why am i writing a review? Because it helps alot of people, i know how it feels like wasting 1 gig of downloads for another crappy non stop hardcore grinding game. Although my reviews are very general, it will give you guys an idea of what the game is like :) And no, im not one of those guys that will exagerate and make the game sound epic pro or something, i will only be honesy.
Hello boys and girls :D This my second review on a game, so it may be a bit noobish :p
Here's a little introduction in how i bumped into this game, well today i was suppose to go to easter show but i was sick :(. Anyway so i deicded to stay at home to find a new game, something out of the ordinary smack grind and level. Until i saw Atlantica online, i thought "Hey the battle system is completly different let's give it a try". Although i would prefer more cutish type graphics like Ragnarok or something, but that didn't stopped me from downloading :D
Here's a very general describtion of the game ^^
Graphics 3~4/5
The graphic isn't exactley the best... In alot of the review i read people would exagerate how great the graphics are, well to be honest there just aren't that great. Even on the highest resolution it looks a bit dull (except when your battling), the enviroment looks like one of those boring hardcore grinding games. You require a pretty decent computer to run the resolution on the highest, most of the people resort to running the game on the lowest resolution ( lowest resolution is plain yuck, trust me =='').
Music 4/5
Wow, really the music is just fantastic, I didn't even need to switch it off and turn on my grinding music. Every location it has the most suitable music for it, for example when you travel to Beijing (yes it's actualy a part of the map in the game), it will play the asianish music in the background and it is just sweet! The battle music also pumps you up, i would almost say that this game's music is almost as good as Ragnarok's music.
Battle system 4/5
Very very very verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry nice battle system!!! Something new and out of the ordinary! (THANK GOD) No more smack bang click grind and repeat! The battle system is one of the main attraction of this game, if you love Final Fantasy then this is the game for you. Except there is a stupid feature in the battle system, you have to use one turn to loot items (dammit why couldn't they just copied Final Fantasy and give all the loots at the end), you also have to be very quick in making your decision because you have a time limit (this is a positive, it makes the game for fast paced). This game truly require skills, unlike normal online rpg games *click, spam skills and hope for the best*. If your not going to try the game because of the graphics then atleast try it for the battle system!
Community 5/5
Once again, just wow.... I have never ever met a community this nice before. There is no inmature idiots like the ones you find in typical rpg games "OMG YOUR SOO NOOB, YOU GOT PWNEDDD, LOOOL NOOOB" etc etc ... There is a simple button on the top right where it says "request for help" you simply type your question and you will have people answering in 5 minutes top! (I love this feature, in normal rpg games you would alt+tab go to forums post a question then wait half an hour for a reply, and by the time they replied you probably already figured it out). The game also offers you a mentor, the mentor is a real player he guides you and helps you. WIthin 2 hours of playing the game i have 4 people offering to be my mentor, and literally non-stop gifts from random people and offering me help. Just wow... This is truly the best community i have ever met.
Overall 8/10
Truly one of the best games out there and trust me i have tried alot of games.... Even WOW (oh how crap that game was...) I would recommend all the people that plays online rpg games to try this game out.
