Excuse the seemingly lame title.
Anyway, I'm sure more than a few of you have wanted a wild, crazy adventure as seen on TV, a YouTube video, a video game, or elsewhere. Maybe bringing a few friends along for the ride wouldn't hurt either (because having fun by yourself seems lame after a while... >.>; ). And seriously, I'm sure some people need a good adrenaline rush or two every now and then, on the side.
If you don't believe me, though, here's a clip for the sake of explaination. *
See!? See how crazy and fun-filled and yada-yada that stuff is!? Adrenaline-pumping fights and joy-rides to an exploding building where oversized evil overlords come out!? BOO-YAH!!
Unfortunately, in reality as well as in most games, that kind of excitement doesn't last very long. In most cases, it is either because some developers enjoy making long, drudging scenes with barely if any action sequences, mostly revolving around dialogue. Either that or it's prolly because they're limited in their tools for that kind of thing. In the case of reality though, unless you live either near an amusement park or skate park, with fun-loving friends, or anywhere else if creativity is put to use, there's the same kind of odds of having an exciting good time.
And then there are those kinds of people who really don't have the means or are just plain lazy. **
Fortunately, though, there may be hope. Square Enix' Kingdom Hearts series may have the spotlight in terms of providing adrenaline (even playing 2, I had a bit of a good time myself playing the boss fights), but someday in the future, more action games will pick up the pace; more especially in the MMO department with the upcoming Blade and Soul. ***
For the present, though, there are still a number of action games with the excitement factor behind it, such as S4 League. It's small now, but surely those games will serve as the foundation for more exciting adventure games to come.
So hopefully we will all get the adrenaline rush we've been waiting for.
*Was going to say something here, but if anything, let's just say I either tried to find a better example, or tried to fit the video it linked to on here. *shrug*
Oh, wait... By sake, I mean SAYKE, not SAWK-IE.
**After a long hiatus, I am back. More on that at 11.
***Speaking of Blade and Soul, here's to hoping I get to play NCSoft's other game, Aion. Hopefully it will break my dad out of his WoW addiction. x-X
