The developers of “RuneScape,” the popular free-to-play MMO, are at it again. Jagex has become well-known in recent years for their dedication to the game and are consistently improving it by releasing updates to fix bugs and patches to improve the in-game experience of the players. The most recent update was released on the 27th of January, and is called the ‘Magic Interface’ update.

There were several reports of players having difficulty using the game’s teleport facility. The main problem lay with finding the correct icon among dozens so that you will be teleported to the correct town instead of the somewhere miles away. That system has been changed, however.

Said Mod Fetzki, the “RuneScape” Content Team Leader: “The magic interface has a new feature that will enable you arrange your spells by category, and display either combat spells or teleport spells at the top of the interface. The default order will be the current, level-based one. This applies to all magic spell books.”

Players were also complaining about the confusing map and navigation facilities. Before the update, it was hard to make your way around the game because it was often unclear just where you were. This would become tiresome when forced to travel miles because of growing quests as the game went on. The solution? A new ‘you are here’ button.

“The ‘you are here’ button will now mark where you are on the world map, which you can open by clicking on the globe next to the minimap in the top-right-hand corner,” said Fetzki. “This should make it easier for you to plan your journeys, as you’ll have a much clearer idea of your starting point.”

Another change came from the official game forums. Fans suggested that a good idea would be to have a designated button to teleport players directly into the Guthix minigame. The Jagex developers have put more emphasis on their minigames recently and the results are starting to shine through.
