Book 11 of the Lord of the Rings Online is nearly here and there are some exciting new additions and enhancements in the game, which can all be found in the release notes. Book 11: Defenders of Eriador will be released on October 24 for the US and on October 25 for Europe.
There are some highlights of Defenders of Eriador you have to watch out for. First, you can own your own house now, where you can pick from up to 250 neighborhoods and style it with over 200 different decorations. New upgrades and tweaks have also been introduced to the Lore-master and Minstrel classes.
Another is the introduction of the Rift, a cavern beneath an ancient city. Up to 12 players can explore its depths. ( There are also new areas to be found in the Misty Mountains: the Northern and Southern High Pass. Perhaps Gollum can be found there? Check the read link for the rest of the details for Book 11: Defenders of Eriador.

Beginning today, people from North America, Aussie, and Kiwi land can play the game for free if they go to this page. And now for the standard catch: "At the end of the trial, players will have the option to continue to play LOTRO, and keep the characters created during their 7-day free trial time, by purchasing the game either online or at retail."

City of Kings is the second expansion pack to grace the popular Tolkein-themed MMO. This iteration brings substantial additions to the game's overall plot and storyline -- mostly centering around Amarthiel's acquisition of the palantir of Carn D?m and her subsequent search for Narchuil: the lost ring of power. Other changes include: New Reputation and Bartering systems -- Reputation allows you to earn positive and negative standing with the different races and groups in Middle-earth based on monster kills and quest completions. Bartering allows you to trade trophies earned in battle for rewards like armor sets or mounts. "Legendary Play" -- for characters experienced enough to have reached the Ettenmoors. Spend destiny points to play either as a Northern Ranger or a terrible Troll as you vie for dominance. "Critter Play" -- Satisfy your longstanding desire to step into the persona of a nonviolent random creature. Sadly only one animal (the noble chicken) will be available at launch, with others coming soon. Scratch! Scratch in the dirt for the dewworm of Angmar! New quests... over a hundred of 'em. Plus new adventures, new dungeons and over a dozen new monsters. Customizable user e

The Lord of the Rings Online™: Shadows of Angmar™ is the world?s first and only MMOG based on the literary works of J.R.R. Tolkien. Players can experience the most famous fantasy world of all time, exploring and adventuring their heroes through the vast reaches of Middle-earth in the fight against the forces of the Dark Lord Sauron. 1 : Is it going to be consensual? While the way in which this will be implemented in the game is still under discussion, we do know, and can share, three things: PvP combat in LOTRO will be consensual. If you do not wish to participate, you do not have to. PvP is NOT the focus of the game. It will primarily be part of our "elder play." No matter what form PvP in LOTRO takes, we are committed to making sure it fits into Middle-earth in as lore-appropriate a way as possible. At this time the bones of our PvP system are well in place and now it?s just fleshing out the details. We?ll be releasing more information in the next several weeks. I have actually seen it implemented in the game, spoken to the game systems team, and reviewed the dev diary in which we?ll be giving an overview. NONE of these plans include a FFA PvP server. All servers will have
