Robert Garriott --- President of NCsoft® North America

As 2007 comes to a close, I think its well worth discussing what a great year it has been for the company, and using that success as a platform for 2008 and beyond. We’ve had many exciting things happen this year, with much of it providing building blocks for even better years ahead of us.

First of course is the release of Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa in November, which is a big event in the history of this company and the fruit of much labor by many current and former employees worldwide...

Also in November we had even more exciting news. We absolutely love City of Heroes and we really wanted greatly to re-invest in the franchise; the question was how to do it in the best way possible...

In August we released Eye of the North, an expansion pack for the extremely popular Guild Wars franchise. Eye of the North was a bit different from our previous Guild Wars releases in that it wasn’t a standalone product; you had to own one of the three Guild Wars titles (Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall) in order to play,

The future is looking great for NCsoft North America. I’ve mentioned quite a few plans we have for 2008, and in addition we

When you play a Massive game, are you escaping the real world?

what you guys are playing mmorpgs for ?

do you wanna escape the real world or do you just want to try another live style opposite to your real life ?

or you just want to kill the free time cos u dun not how to waste ?LOL

All the above similar questions asked by well-known Virtual Worlds researcher Edward Castronova  in his new book Exodus to the Virtual World: How Online Fun is Chaning Reality.

"What I tried to do in this book is say, 'listen - even if the typical reader doesn't spend any time in virtual worlds, what is going to be the impact on him of people going and doing this?'" And he predicted that everyone will be involved in a virtual environment within ten years - although the level of that involvement will vary.

"A father of two spending 90 hours a week in a virtual world because he doesn't like his wife - I would say that's escapism, and it isn't anything you would say is good. "But if it's a heavy-set girl from a small town who gets victimised just because her body isn't the 'right' kind of body, and she goes online to make friends because she can't get a fair shake in the real world, then I w

0 Digg it    Lineage II free expansion Chaotic Throne: The Kamael details
  Views: 31  |  Category : Default |  Post time : Oct 21, 2007    Comments: 0  |  Bookmark

NCsoft's Lineage II will be getting a new free Chaotic Chronicles chapter called The Chaotic Throne: The Kamael. Announced at the MMORPG's official website, this update will introduce a new race, lands, and three new services.

The new race, called The Kamael, are well known for their battle prowess and their affinity for dark magic. These one-winged warriors can choose to go the path of a Berserker (males only), Abalester (females only), or a Soul Breaker (available to both genders).

Chaotic Throne: The Kamael also introduces three new lands called Isle of Souls, Hellbound, and Isle of Prayer. Isle of Souls is the homeland of The Kamael which players can visit by talking to the Gate Keeper NPCs. Hellbound and Isle of Prayer are new areas for higher-leveled players; they will provide good rewards for those who journey there and survive.

This expansion implements three new services, namely Character Server Transfers, Name Changes, and Gender Changes. Players have been asking for these features ever since Lineage II came out so it's nice to see that they're finally adding it. More updates on this MMORPG as we get them.
