Video games and TV sets could be subject to a 1% sales tax in New Mexico if a coalition of environmental groups has its way.

As reported by the Huffington Post:

The tax idea, initiated by the Sierra Club, would raise an estimated $4 million a year, to fund programs aimed at giving school kids an outdoors education.

Michael Casaus, the New Mexico youth representative for the Sierra Club, referred to the tax proposal as part of the “Leave No Child Inside” movement, and said:

We believe it is such a nominal tax that consumers won’t feel it too much, especially if they are educated about where that money goes.

Nexon says the game “fuses the thrill of addicting, old-school multiplayer kart riding mayhem with innovative track design,” and that it features “millions of uniquely created character personalities and endless kart modifications.”

It’s easily accessible but hard to master, while average games take no longer than a couple of minutes so it’s easy to dip in and out of the action.

30 percent of the South Korean population have apparently played it and they can’t all be wrong – for more info on how to get in on the beta just follow this link.

“We will implement the highest of development standards to rise to the challenge of doing justice to this innovative new programme,” he added.

The completed game will coincide with the launch of the CBBC (Childrens BBC) series.
