0 Digg it    Atlantica Online Becomes GNGWC 2008 Official Game
  Views: 52  |  Category : Default |  Post time : Jul 08, 2008    Comments: 0  |  Bookmark

Atlantica Online has been chosen as an official game of GNGWC 2008 (Game and Game World Championship 2008) which will be hosted by KIPA and sponsored by KT Corporation. This year will mark the 3rd GNGWC. A total of 6 countries, including Brazil and Singapore newly added this year, will be holding local contests with the final match being held in Korea this November.

£ Atlantica was chosen as an official game of GNGWC. What is the contest process?

We have already developed a military match system in the game. With this system, gamers will participate in online preliminary contests from each country. The top gamers of each preliminary contest will join the local preliminary contest, and then the winners from the local contests will compete within the final match, which will be held in Korea. We thought about the GNGWC contest from the start of developing Atlantica. Eventually, it depends on how well we will be able to utilize the existing systems.

£ How will it go in the final match?

The final match will be offline. The winners from each country will establish their equipment in the server and match for the game. The gamer winning 2 out of 3 games will be the final winner.

The Arena Net team, which makes the Guild Wars game, has announced their official stance on real money transactions and gold sales.

Real-Money Trading Policy

It is our goal to provide an enjoyable experience to every Guild Wars player. That's why we take the topic of real-money trading (buying and selling gold or in-game items for real-world money) very seriously. Every week, we ban thousands of accounts used by real-money trading companies, because those companies harm the game for other players by running large networks of bots to farm gold and items, spamming chat channels with their advertisements, and even attempting to steal login credentials from unsuspecting players.

Why we crack down on real-money trading

Real-money trading and related activities such as botting and spamming are breaches of the User Agreement and Rules of Conduct. These rules help protect the entire Guild Wars community from abuse by providing a set of guidelines for fair play that allow all players to enjoy the game. Real-money trading activities negatively impact the fun of many players.

How we deal with real-money traders

To help protect the Guild Wars community from the problems caused by real-money trading

Today, Bitcasters announced that it will make the Storm Hawks animated series into an MMO. The media firm will accomplish this using the BigWorld Technology Suite. Bitcasters will work closely with broadcast partners YTV and Cartoon Network along with toy line manufacturer Spinmaster to create a genuine Storm Hawks experience.

"When we set out to create the Storm Hawks MMO, we needed a technology solution that would allow us to bring the online story to life, and connect our worldwide audience in exciting new ways," commented Nathon Gunn, CEO of Bitcasters. "Not only has the BigWorld solution exceeded our expectations, but the continued support and training the BigWorld team have provided us with has allowed us to get further ahead in a much shorter time than would otherwise have been possible."

"We're very excited to be working with Bitcasters on bringing the Storm Hawks series online," said Gavin Longhurst, VP of Business Development for BigWorld. "Their talented development team has made the most of BigWorld's full solution to bring the great characters, great stories and the world of Atmos alive in a unique online experience."
