Players in Cabal Online can engage in PvP action, whenever and more importantly wherever they choose.

May 05, 2008 Now players in OGPlanet's massively multiplayer online role-playing game CABAL ONLINE can fully satisfy their desire for brutal, no-holds-barred player vs. player combat.

In CABAL ONLINE's recently launched War Channel, the rules that normally govern polite society no longer apply. Instead of being limited to civilized, mutually agreed-upon duels, players can engage their enemies whenever and wherever they choose. Each player kill in the War Channel will be rewarded with one Honor Point.

"CABAL ONLINE players now have the ability to experience all-out player vs. player combat if they so choose," said Don Choi, COO of OGPlanet. "Many MMO players consider PvP the ultimate test of skill, and providing a space for unhindered PvP battle lets them really test their skills under pressure."

While the open format of the War Channel allows for chaotic free-for-all battle, teams and nations can also join together to occupy cities, thus beginning on ongoing struggle for control. The War Channel lives up to its name, with the option of engaging in a fu

0 Digg it    Codemasters Online to Develop MMOs in-House in Future
  Views: 17  |  Category : Default |  Post time : May 06, 2008    Comments: 0  |  Bookmark
Codemasters Online, who helped to develop such titles as Lord of the Rings Online, and Jumpgate: Evolution, have announced that they will make their own titles from now on.

According to vice president David Solari, Codemasters will focus on producing its own titles in future. "We always had a five year plan and it was always in the middle of that five year plan that we would start developing our own games," he stated. "We are looking at that and we have to think very carefully about what title is right, what will work in the future. These aren't easy questions to answer and it's very easy to fail in the MMO market so you've got to take your time, be careful and be sensible."

0 Digg it    Metal Gear Online Beta Coming To Europe
  Views: 58  |  Category : Default |  Post time : Apr 14, 2008    Comments: 0  |  Bookmark

Konami has told Eurogamer that it will be announcing its European Metal Gear Online beta plans "shortly".

Its comments follow (at a safe and undetectable distance) word earlier that sign-ups to the MGO beta in Japan appear to be inaccessible to those of us with Western-originating IP addresses.

The full game is due out around the world alongside Metal Gear Solid 4 on 12th June, so Konami had better get its skates on.

0 Digg it    Disney Closes Gates To Virtual Magic Kingdom
  Views: 50  |  Category : Default |  Post time : Apr 09, 2008    Comments: 0  |  Bookmark

It's a sad news special for  those who enjoy some digitalized Disney magic. It's been decided that Virtual Magic Kingdom, the virtual world developed and released in 2005 to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the real Disneyland's opening, will be closed for good on May 21

As with Habbo Hotel, Virtual Magic Kingdom was developed by Finnish studio Sulake and shared many similarities with the social networking site. Players with registered accounts are able to decorate their personal rooms, earn and spend in-game credits, and participate in a variety of online events and activities with their customized avatars, all in a "safe, non-threatening environment."

Said producer Seth "Yavn" Mendelsohn: "In the time since we've launched VMK, we've seen many players come and go, and we're hoping you will graduate from VMK too – in particular, to games like Pirates of the Caribbean Online, Disney's ToonTown Online, Club Penguin and the upcoming Fairies and Cars online virtual worlds. We think you'll find you enjoy those just as much as VMK – if not more."
