聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Silkroad Online just announced their new update "Legend III". Also they recently did聽a "major bot ban", in which they聽banned from 25(on Babel) to 987(on Poseidon)聽bots, a total of 21,941 across 30 servers. Now first of all I'd like to say that this is best looking ban list that I've ever seen from Joymax simply because there is a large number of "regular" names people instead of just the gold farmers. I have the gold farmers more, but the botters that run around saying they're the best on the server when in fact they botted their way up. Also I have to ask about Babel and their 25 bots banned, how is this possible? This is all they found? When I left this server it was littered with bots, and I've even gone back to find people I once knew were botting or had botted. Not that I would like my friends or other casual botters to be banned, my main problem are people who run bots for multiple hours a day/week (like 24/7) and those running multiple clients. This is what causes all the overcrowding, which makes many legit players quit or turn to botting themselves.聽 Now when say "ban" my question is: Are they banning accounts or IPs? Most likely the answer is accounts. I am aware they have the "3 accounts per IP" but I know people that don't have this cutoff, not many there are some. Also why are they not stiffening security? I think if they are really interested in stopping this bot problem they would make these programs harder to make, this would make them more expensive and therefore less people use them. That's not even a solution, but it would be better than just banning a few thousand accounts the will just be recreated and the situation is right back where it was. See below:
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ok now that I've bashed SRO about their bot problem, lets see if the new update is worth buying a premium (which is currently the only way to be able to log in on about 20 out of the 30 servers at the LOWEST traffic time). They are adding lvls 81-90, which is great for those capped and ready to move up, this also will help with crowding聽in Taklamaken/Karakorum hopefully, giving those of us out there who need to be there a chance to kill mobs. Also this will finally 9th Degree, 9d is long over due in some peoples opinions, including mine, because it is believed to start at lvl76 or so, meaning that capped characters would already have parts of this set. Roc Mtn is the new area which is lvl 70-90, giving it as large a range as Taklamaken including a new unique(Shatan, I believe he's called). This area being open also gives traders the ability to travel another route from Hotan to Samarkand and reverse. Also its been stated that there are new skills also, I haven't seen any of these nor do I know what lvls they are for, but I would not be suprised to updates for multiple lvls(high and low) because they did it in Legend 1.聽 Lastly, they will be doing a "capture the flag" event some time in May(which I think will be right before the update) giving people the ability to gain extra xp through 2v2 and 4v4 capture the flag matches. This has been done before, but again I have to ask: Why set up lvl66s with lvl80s? Most of these 80s are bots or have botted and are farmed, this will make it very difficult for those lower lvled players trying to earn their tickets.
聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Well I guess in the end its a matter of personal choice. I personally still play SRO and have my Premium, which I will continue to buy each month, at least until Age of Conan comes out(which I have preordered). To anyone that reads this, feel free to tell me how you feel on this situation, I would love to hears others opinions.
