Yes, thats right! A new MMO for Adults!! I'm sure you all know about this game already, but Age of Conan is getting real close to it's release date. And to be truthful...I'm very excited! I'm sure you can already tell this because of the many "!" that you've seen already, well get ready for more!!! Now I don't usually get that excited over new MMOs due to the fact that they come out monthly, maybe even weekly, nowadays. And not to put these games down or say that they're bad, I just don't see any reason to play them over any other game. Ok, back to the topic at hand, AoC is gonna the first "M" rated MMO to be released (as far as I know anyway) and on top of the blood and nudity aspect, it is built on "Next-Gen" technology. DirectX10 that is, which I doesn't mean much to most, but for those who say " Vista is unstable, blah blah blah", I say this: I've have been running Vista Home Basic x64 for 13 months now. I have changed my computer Completely! twice since I installed it. To be more specific 2 Motherboards (Asus K8, MSI K9A2), from 4 x1gb ram sticks to 2 x2gb and 1 x 1gb stick, 3 GPUs (Geforce 7600, 8600, and Radeon 3870). The only thing that has stayed the same in my case is the Hard Drive with Vista installed and my Dvd burner. And after all these changes I've never had to repair or reinstall Vista, not to mention that Vista found and installed all the drivers I needed before I could get the driver disks loaded up. So, please don't tell me how Vista is this and that...If you haven't personally tried it, then you don't know. Once again sorry for the rant, just can't help it sometimes, people are missing out because of the bad criticism from those who just don't want to change. This is not just XP upgraded, it has a completely different feel than any previous Windows. Done with that.

Now, back to AoC. Another great new thing it is adding to the MMORPG genre is positional damage and real-time combat. In the standard MMO you usually just point, click, and start using skills; or you hit some targeting button and run around while your avatar just swings automatically. Not here my friend! you strike every hit yourself, no auto attack or point and clicking then waiting for it to die. You must choose where to hit and with what skill.

So this leads to my first question here: What do you think about this real-time combat  in and MMO?  Is it good or bad and do you think it will change the future of combat in MMOs?

Ok ok ok... I'm gonna stop talking about all the good stuff in AoC and get to the real point of this article!!!

Age of Conan: Beta Pvp Weekend:

This weekend is the AoC pvp weekend and lucky me got a key!! So I will be testing out AoC for the next 3 days or so to see if it is really as good as I personally want to believe. After I'm done and it is over I will be writing about my feelings on it, good and bad of course, and if I think the game is the worth the price I've paid (pre-ordered it a few weeks ago). So make sure to check back sometime next week and expect to RAW truth, something of which I promise you will always get from me!!!
