My first discovery of Flyff was an interesting one for I have never encountered a game where one could gain items and fly upon them. Hince what Flyff stands for: Fly for fun. That alone intrigued me enough to give the game a shot. Though playing through it for only a little while I quickly lost interest within the first few hours of leveling. Now back when the game was first opened to the general public leveling took a long time, as for now I am not so sure.

Though I will say that I was very impressed with the quality of the graphics within the game. It was done in an anime style but it was a more clean and cut version of the anime style as far as being in 3D goes. Though there are very few games who attempt the 3D feel with an anime style graphic based game because realism and anime don't really go hand in hand when it comes to how they look. Regardless to this day I still think that as far as graphics go Flyff has done it's job very well.

The items within this game are very interesting and honestly extremely unique at least to me that is. For example the jesters have the ability to use Yo-Yo's as a primary weapon instead of a traditional Bow(which is also available). In addition as shown in the above screen shot the clothing is pretty amazing as well. They don't have to look alike at all, but as a lower level within your job you more than likely will look like a lot of other low levels. Which is common place in almost all MMO's out there.

The class system varies a great deal, and that is something that I absolutely loved. What I did not like though was that it took till level 15 to even be able to apply for whichever class you wanted. By that time you have set your stats so on and so forth in order to help yourself level. So with this game it is very wise, and probably the only smart thing to do: to look up your class before you even make your character. Where as in some games you can sort of wing it. Moreover it takes a good while to get to level 15 and if you do it all in one day it will still take a great amount of time. Still though once you reach your acceptable level there are mission quests that one needs to do in order to become that class.

Unlike other games where the quests are filler quests within the world of Flyff you actually have to do real quests. In the case of a Jester the last quest you must complete is to defeat a monster sub boss like creature. It is not extremely difficult but it is in fact in the area of being classified as a real quest and not a filler.

All in all from what I have played I give this game a 8/10 which is rare since I really hate rating games based on my own opinion. The funny thing about this is that Flyff has a horrible grind(or had one, I have not played it since the newest patch so I don't know if it still does) and is still a very popular game being that it still draws in people to play it.
The guild system is a very friendly system, and the community is a rather nice one as well. This could be the drawing factor in this game, and I honestly think that is what it is. I am still uncertain about what exactly it is about this game that makes it so extremely popular. Regardless my prediction for this game is that it will have a very long lasting life span as an MMO, and honestly even if I never play it again I hope it does. The reason being is that it is always a shame to see a good game go down the drain.

FLYFF is a great game...i quit the game cause of the ridiculously long grind....

said in another post...every mob u fought was like....an epic battle, it took a long time to kill the monster and it would give usually a measly amount of exp(imagine 0.02% of exp ur target for the day from 0.00% for quite a few hours of playing)

but the truth is...that really is(maybe was..i dunno i quit 2 yrs ago)the only bad thing about the game....everything else was just beautifully designed....i wouldnt want it to go down anytime soon too

its funny though....some time in the past...ppl predicted FLYFF would die at around thetime i quit the game but here it is still holding strong....or at least i think so

your absolutely right about some things for me its not that bad its actualy good to find a game that feels like an RPG in online gaming...when i used the word RPG i mean it has a strong bond between the game and its storyline which sadly isnt really implented WELL in mmorpg's these days...the reason i quit flyff becuase it ends up the same fate as any mmo's out there...ENDLESS GRINDING!! thats when i finally had it with flyff..sigh..its too good to have an rpg that has ALL of their elements and is made carefully in an mmorpg thats why i prefer cosnole games rather in online games in rpg genre's
