I've posted this elsewhere and wanted to see what others think of it here.
~sigh~ so here we go, and you'll also take note i obviously got lazy as hell with the names in this story.

Preface

Introduction to the story I am about to tell you all: All characters involved belong to me and I will not be happy with any person, or persons taking them for their own. I have devoted a lot of time to this story and these characters let alone typing all of this out since I have finally decided to sit down and type the story for an audience who may or may not enjoy it.

I don't mind comments, and in fact I encourage them.Mind you it may start off slow, but I'll try to put as much into a single post to leave you wanting more. This is also a fantasy type story so please be mindful that somethings are not going to be realistic. However it is set in modern day.

<3 Enjoy

"A slow day just like all of the rest" A dull, soft voice broke through the darkness of the young man's room. Not a single light on and the television off because he forgot to pay the cable bill a while ago. However due to his lack of caring on that subject, or at least his lack until he realized he was missing his anime shows he would think that his T.V. was simply having a spastic moment.

The guy was no older than nine-teen and in college for his third semester waiting to go into his forth over the summer in a completely different city but the same state. At moments of silence like this he always missed living in Europe because of all the action there so to speak there was always something to do at least as a young child. That is how he remembered the place, and the united states simply bored him no matter what he found himself doing. The only thing that really made him wish to stay here was that he had gotten engaged with a lovely young woman. Though most people frowned upon it because she was a full three years younger than him. He however thought nothing of it because if he had not graduated high school early she would have been in when he was. So it did not matter besides all of that he loved her. Sadly he was unable to see her until the summer term of college when he moved to live near her and attend school. The boy was literally going to give up everything for her and had no problem in doing it.

Yawning and pulling his right arm up through the air in an overly dramatic manner he stretched it before it would slam back onto the bed which he was laying on. Giving off a grunt of pleasure as he did this he laid his palm flat on the soft covers and pushed off to pull his upper body up. Now the boy was in a sitting position instead of a more reclined one. Arms crossed over one another to his left side as his lazy eyes looked about the scorching it in his glare.

'Bingo!' He would exclaim in the back of his head as he had found what he was looking for: The light switch. It was dark after all and he had no way of knowing where it was unless he did an intense look through this darkness. Well he scurried, and he hurried to get over to it. Tossing covers this way and that only no sheets to follow since his bed had none. All his efforts at first seemed to be completely in vain because instead of making it safely off of the bed the covers constricted around him due to his bodily movements, namely the twisting he had been doing.

In attempts to get released from these vicious and malicious covers he found himself spinning onto the floor with one arm stretched forward. With a loud thud he hit the ground, but a soft sound came followed by an array of cascading lights shining down on his form. Although covered he may be it was still shining down on him.

There was a pause before a heavy sigh escaped his lips and he spoke. "At least I got the light on" His voice was naturally very soft even when he was screaming it held a certain gentle breeze to it.

Thin pale brown fingers curled around an opening at the blankets that appeared randomly to him at least. Pealing the blankets back it slowly revealed what he looked like. Only because he was flailing about when he took the covers from his body so glimpses here and there were shown before they simply fell from his body.

All this action took a lot out of him and he was gasping for breath on his knees. "Maybe next time I'll win the battle with these cursed blankets. Ahahaha!" The boy laughed with his arms bent and fingers curled mocking the great villains he had watched so many times on the shows he loved. Looking at him one might assume he was trying to emulate one, but it was simply how he chose to dress.

A black spiked collar fastened tight on his neck. Black hair falling over his soft brown eyes that had speckles of amethyst coloring and outline. Brown streaks in his hair showing where the black dye had started to fade, a tight fitting black tank top with no shirt under it tucked into black, and white camo pants that were very lose fitting around his legs but held tight to the lower part of his waist. Now understand he did not sag so to speak, because his boxers were that low as well. In other words he simply wore his pants and underwear low. Showing off a bit of his actual feminine side. Well it's easier to describe him as a pretty bow.

Attached to his right wrist was the leather loop of a chained leash that latched onto the back of his collar. His hands partially covered by gray and black tipless gloves that only went down as far as the bottom of his palm.

"Hm..." He started in a manner expressing he was lost in thought as the tips of his fingers touched the ground and he started crawling forward. Widened eyes giving off a startled expression as he jumped to his feet and rushed out the door passed his father who was a portly man but kept himself healthy some how. "I'm going to be late for class!" Running out to his car and trying to open the door he let out an exasperated gasp and darted back into the house whining. "my keys!?"

When everything was gathered as it should be he finally got in his car and started it, the automatic shift was most easily said to be his friend. Stick shift confused him beyond belief and he really did not have the nature, or time to spend figuring that out. Already having too many things to think about he sped off. Thankfully he did not get pulled over by a cop then again there was a stop sign that he did in fact stop at a few seconds before he sped off.

Staring at it with a horrid glare and tapping his fingers on the wheel of his car he made sure no one was coming before he drove off again having the right of way. Taking a deep breath he closed his eyes and tried to concentrate on the road. The drive felt so long and annoying but when he finally got to that last stop light he took a sigh of relief and closed his eyes leaning his forehead on the steering wheel. Only to open them again a second or so later and look over at the car to his left that he heard pulling up next to him.

Nothing out of the ordinary was there: just a guy behind the wheel with a large beard, muscles, and a nice pair of horns protruding from his forehead. Yep, nothing out of the ordinary. Closing his eyes again they snapped back open wide and he looked over at the car next to him hesitantly but before he could take in the mans image again he heard the honk of an irritated drive behind him since the light had turned green and he had not gone yet.

Frantically taking off he pulled into the college parking lot and took a few deep breaths. He hated this: being able to see all sorts of things, weither they be demons, angels, mystical beasts that were not meant to really exists. Jo as he preferred to be called learned first hand that most of the folk lore behind a lot of cultures were true鈥ery true.

Scratching at his chest he found that he had forgotten to take the string around his neck from under his shirt. Taking his index and middle finger on his right hand he tugged at it until it came up with a little weight at the end of it. Digging into his shirt through the opened collar he pulled a brass key that looked like it went to an old house out and let it hang around his neck on the black string. Without a word more he pulled out his cell phone and took his notebook from the seat of the car while dialing her number, the woman he was engaged to: Rachel.

The phone rang to his anxiety and he wondered if she was even home. Thankfully he got a greeting and she did answer. The conversation went as it normally would, the young man informed his beauty that he was heading to class and just wanted to tell her he loved her before he got out. After which he was about to hang up but stopped and grew silent. Not too far from him was a young woman who got his attention not because he found her attractive, because in all honesty he thought she was horrible looking. Regardless it was the thing moving next to her. A woman clad fully in old medieval armor and a large Bastard sword on her back. A helmet to match all the silver armor clashing over her skin.

鈥淗unnie!鈥 A voice came over the phone in a worried manner and he answered slightly in a reluctant way. 鈥淚-I have to go love鈥︹ Jo always felt uneasy around people who were literally possessed by other spirits like this girl before him obviously was. The two on the phone said they loved each other but she said something he found odd 鈥淚鈥檒l see you soon鈥 Before he hung up he glanced at the phone and gave a confused look.

Tucking it away in his pocket he clutched his notebook to his chest and tried to walk as fast as he could away from the girl and the apparition. That girl simply sat down as if paying him no mind but what he saw made him know that she had other plans. Her eyes became dull and more lifeless than before and closed slowly. The spirit had detatched itself from the host body and was making it鈥檚 way toward him, and not in a slow fashion.

Jo began to sprint into the building thinking that he lost the being he rested his back against the wall next to his class closing his eyes and trying to clear his head. For years he told himself this was all his imagination. When he opened his eyes he found a trail of silver floating toward his skull. Imagination or not he ducked down avoiding the large blade that was now digging into the wall. Most people in the hall could only see the markings in the wall. A lot more people could either see the outline of the blade or the full person.

It had nothing to do with being born with this gift to see things, no in fact it had to do with the spirits actual power and the power of the human. If a human was weak enough to be taken over odds are they could not see the apparition, but if they could fight it off for a little while then they could at least see the outline. Nine times out of ten that is how it was, but in his rare case if the human could not become a host for one reason or another he could completely see the apparition as it were in this case or the creature.

Leaving his notebook and scurrying up to his feet down the hall he heard her pull the blade out of the wall and begin to speak in an almost angelic tongue. Some of the others in the hall were staring at the marking in the wall stunned others were staring wide eyed at the woman who was after Jo. 鈥淚 am Silent Melody, and I am sorry but your time in this world has come to an end.鈥

The first thing he could think of as he made his way down the stairs and over the rail in a leap of faith. It really was only a few feet off the ground, but it was a leap of faith for him given the situation was to say 鈥淵ou? Don鈥檛 they send death for that!?鈥 There was no laughter but the sound of armor hitting the ground as she gracefully made her way down to his level by walking through the air and over the stairs as if there was another layer of land there.

She said nothing knowing that he could not avoid this next attack. Bending her left leg and pressing forward on it she lunged her body forward and gripped the handle of her immense blade taking a swing in attempts to cut him in half.

There was no way to avoid this, and he was not the fastest human alive. In fact as far as he knew there was nothing special about himself. All he could think to do now was to grip the key around his neck and whisper an apology to the girl he was about to abandon due to the fact his life was cut short.

That is when he heard the clash of steal against steal. Tears had already formed in his eyes by the time he looked frantically about the room to see a short blonde girl with a scythe extended to her side facing the woman who had attempted to kill him. The girl had deflected the blade with that scythe that appeared far too large for her small stature. She dressed something like him but a little different.

Instead of a collar she had a choker with black stars hanging down the tips reaching just above her chest. A purple short sleaved shirt, blue jeans that accentuated a very curvy figure but fanned out over her anarchicks. Talk about looking familiar. She spoke softly in a voice that made him almost choke from shock 鈥淚 told you I would see you soon.鈥
