Outbreak: Anime hits American MMO industry!
  Views: 714  |  Category : Industry, ideas? |  Post time : Apr 15, 2008    Comments: 12  |  Bookmark
For a long time people who consider them self to be a hard core gamer so on and so forth have been complaining about the sudden outreach toward Anime styled games coming in from Asia over to America. Of course I am speaking of mmo's nothing more because we have had Anime based and styled games in the United States for a very long time, and although people may not like it those who don't are such a minority that it does not matter. Moreover those that don't like it in the MMO community are not  really the majority, well they are a huge minority but it was enough complaints to get this article written that is for sure.

A lot of people are very clear on the concept of Supply and Demand. Where the customers what it, or crave it generating a great demand and the Industries and companies come together and grant it, or Supply it in other words. Simple tactic of supply and demand. The more the customers want the more the Companies push out.

American companies are not really all that big on creating Anime styled games on their own, so as of late they have been taking on the more popular games that have been out for a while. Actually this is not something that has happened lately. In fact

Stop this madness(Due to gore Mature content warning)

Gripping his throat trying to catch his last breath he fell to his knees wheezing behind the young woman. Hunched over and staring at the ground while tears filled his eyes from the pain he was experiencing and worry filled his mind since he had no idea what was going on. Though it did come across as though someone was ripping the air right out of his lungs. Tilting his head up as best he could to view the pair they appeared to be talking, and about what he had no idea. That was the last thing he did as he hit the floor arms sprawled upward in front of him and his eyes lids cracked with the pupils rolling back along with the coloring that surrounded them. Gagging and coughing he lay there listening as best he could in his pain.

“You don’t deserve to take him away. Especially not away from me” Came the voice of the young girl who was protecting him, and yes she still sounded so sweet even though it was obvious she was upset. Pulling the scythe to rest behind her draped over a single shoulder as if it were nothing more than a feather she poised herself waiting for the armored woman to speak up.

Though the woman did not say much of anything while she pulled her blade back and let it sta

GameNGame's new possible hit Tcrew
  Views: 425  |  Category : opening reviews |  Post time : May 01, 2008    Comments: 7  |  Bookmark
boomp3.comThis interesting titlle(game) has a huge possibility to become a hit later down the lines with 2D gaming fanatics everywhere. Even the actual game title "Tcrew" hides a little bit of what it is honestly about. I myself tried to sit down and guess the meaning behind the name before finally just giving into my curios nature and looking it up on the games website. Well for all you readers out there the title of the game actually stands for "Treasure Crew", and it's pretty much exactly what it sounds like.

Within the world of the game you take on levels that use strategy with a group of people, or by yourself not to mention with your own Crews which will be explained later on within this article. The game itself is a keyboard game that is almost completely done as such except for selecting items, stages, and selling things as one could guess. That after all would be slightly bothersome. Though a lot of people may actually love that trait in a game one just never knows.

Now lets start by explaining a little bit about the characters abilities in this game. Your personal character as in the one you actually control has no real skill of it's own. The only po

The reason behind the dreaded grind
  Views: 453  |  Category : Industry, ideas? |  Post time : Mar 15, 2008    Comments: 6  |  Bookmark
boomp3.comGrind: the constant state of repetitive action in order to gain experience to level. Usually consists of killing weak mobs for low experience for a long period of time. Tends to take hours or days in some cases.

This horrifying feature is usually seen in F2P(free to play) games which are running ramped lately. Most people sit behind their keyboard highly annoyed when they are trying to gain that extra experience to either get another quest, or equip a new item when they are just so close to doing so. Maybe a level or two away, but the mobs they are fighting or the filler quests they are doing only give them very little experience over all forcing them to repeat the same process over and over again.

Time and time again this can be the reason for a person to quit a game: The grind was to heavy, and too noticeable. The problem that is seen mostly in industries when they produce games is balancing the grind. For one you can not have the grind be far too noticeable or you will not get as many members in your game that you may like. At the same time you can not have there be little to no grind or there will be virtually nothing keeping the person playing unless there is an outrag

Thoughts of V.R. MMO
  Views: 153  |  Category : Idle thoughts |  Post time : May 12, 2008    Comments: 4  |  Bookmark
boomp3.comA weird topic to try to handle, but to be honest it has been on my mind for a while now, and the sad thing is I know this wont happen at least not in my life time. However I would love to actually have a V.R (virtual reality) MMO to come into existence before I leave existence. I guess you could say I watch too much anime because this was not my original idea and I will never take claim to it. (look up dot.hack) Either way the general out look on this would to don' some sort of head gear that brings the player literally into the game making it so that they are actually in the world much like you are in this world. The taste, touch, feel, and all the senses going crazy with this new environment. Though of course you wouldn't be allowed to feel pain the only true pain of death would come from experience loss or however the particular MMO handles death.

Regardless there would be some limitations to it, and some risks as well. If one can go into seizures from playing games (frequently) then they should probably not even invest in something like this. The reason being that not only would there be bright lights but they would seem realistic and up close considering you are yo

Land of dreams and make believe: Monato Esprit
  Views: 658  |  Category : Default |  Post time : Mar 20, 2008    Comments: 7  |  Bookmark
boomp3.com

A land rich of fantasy would be the perfect idea for one to have before they even turn on this client. Well it makes sense in that aspect it is the world of dreams, and you are the few chosen to protect those others who can't protect them self from nightmares. That is in great detail your duty. However lets not delve that much into the story line that is pretty interesting. The facts are you run into some pretty strange npc's that will have you doing very odd little quests. A perfect example of this would be the npc who has you gather items for a health potion but ends up giving you a love potion in which you fall in love with her. Then your next quest is to get a potion to break it. The dialog is rather funny, but something you will just have to personally experience to understand.

Lets first talk about classes, since this is only closed beta as of now, and it is rather new to being opened all the classes are not registered just yet. So for the time being there are only four classes. These four consist of Cleric, Mage, Two handed swordsman, and One handed swordsman. The last two are pretty obvious to be tanks and such, with straight head on attacks, and the higher up tw

My adaptation within the MMO world
  Views: 137  |  Category : Idle thoughts |  Post time : May 13, 2008    Comments: 5  |  Bookmark
boomp3.comGenerally speaking my very first MMO was in fact maple story. Now in it's defense it's a pretty alright game to start off with, but nothing more. It truly is nothing to get addicted over, and sadly I have seen some people actually become addicted to this game without exploring the vast world of MMO's. To speak bluntly I personally am happy that I have given up Maple story and moved onto other games, but to be honest at random moments I get the urge to play it. Maybe it's to see how the guild is still holding up or even just to get in a few mob kills just for old times sake. I honestly am not sure, but I do know that I never act out on these urges no matter how hard that may end up being.

While enjoying my rather lack luster experience within the game of maple I eventually got tired of the usual grind and wondered if there was in fact something better out there. Thankfully my better half ran across an add for Lunia on a website she was going through, and yes this was far before I joined MMOsite which I will talk about later within this article. Moreover when I began playing Lunia I was absolutely shocked that there were games out there like this, and it's pretty und

Respect me or die (a tribute to healers everywhere)
  Views: 668  |  Category : Community |  Post time : Mar 30, 2008    Comments: 14  |  Bookmark
boomp3.com

In every game that you play no matter what it is there is always a class that has the ability to keep you alive. Though it is not the class I pick ever because it is just not my personal style it is one that should have the most respect. Tankers can get in front of people and keep them from being hurt, but healers, or clerics as they are more commonly called amongst the gaming community are the ones that can literally keep you alive or bring you back to life. To be honest they can tell you "Respect me or die" however that would be taking it a bit too far.

The truth of the matter is that some Clerics do abuse their power and will frequently act like snobs in the gaming world, but those are very far few and in between. Typically you have the Clerics that are good at their jobs, and those that are not. Then no matter what when you are in a party with a Cleric unless everyone is on good terms and knows each other I.E. are friends there will always be that guy or girl demanding a heal. Now many of you may say that you demand it because you need it right at that moment. Calm down and allow the healer to do their job.

What I mean by that is simply this. When you demand

Alrighty people just to let you all know I'm not on hiatus or anything like that, but it's been pretty hard to get anything done while starting my summer session in a new college. On top of that I had a little bit of "me" time: I went to an anime convention as most of you all know with my fiancee, a friend of hers, and a friend of mine (who hooked up). So for all of you who were bashing me about "not liking anime coming to the mmo market" I suggest you review your own thoughts, or actually read my article on the topic...that might help.

Right now I'm on the library laptop so i've got to get going soon.

Anyway! Love you guys and girls hope to be back to writing articles soon<3

Sho online: A huge let down
  Views: 581  |  Category : Paradox's Writing Corner(W.C) |  Post time : May 25, 2008    Comments: 6  |  Bookmark
First lets start with something a lot of people may like: when you create your character you get to pick your job class. Sadly there are only three classes to choose from in the start of things, but don't worry they branch out. Your first classes consist of Assassin, Warrior, and Soolsa(mage/priest). Yet when you actually make your character the customization is very...well limited. The only thing you can change is the hair and face. Yep that's it.

When it comes to MMO's I have a very biased opinion on them being that I love the skills that are really flashy, and typically if the game does not have anything flashy in it I will just out right hate it. Regardless this game did not have any sort of flashy skill for my job class( Assassin) however I gave it a chance, because once I logged in I saw how vast the first map was and honestly I was impressed with that. What did bother me was the fact that the community is heavily populated with NPC's I have honestly never seen that many NPC's in a game that give out so many pointless and ridiculous quests until I played this game.

Speaking of quests, at the start of the game of course you get the silly little "go talk to this perso
