Making gamic can be a very challenging tasks especially, when you treat it like a art/creativity project. I would say, it's all in your mindset, to me making these is all about telling a story or a tale.

It's kinda different than, screenshots of your character leveling after defeating some boss mob - to certain extend it does involved some role playing that is if you are series in writing a good story based gamic.

There's 3 types of gamics I've identified so far,

1. One Panel series - Simple one panel usually suitable for joke, pranks and parody related to the game. Sample below

2. Short Tale Series - Tells a tale or joke in conversation style and usually there's no continuing episodes. One tales tells it all.

3. Story Based Series <-- this is the ultimate one and will take you far...sample below is just one of the episodes. There's more here

Part II - Coming soon...Stay Tuned

What is Gamic? - source from http://trickster.isgoodstuff.com/about

Gamic is a combination of the word Game and Comic originated by Nathan Ciprik. Nathan believes that gamics is a way to pay great admiration for the talented artists who create our games rather than trashing them for their mistakes.

Gamic is one of the fastest way to generate role playing / fan related content for the games you are playing (particularly the mmog games). What’s so great about Gamic compared to other fan-fic/ fan-art content?Well, usually people will ended up creating :-

  • Story blogs
  • Posted player story
  • Art related to their characters
  • Computer graphic files
  • Various comic
  • Animation / Videos
  • Crafting related items (e.g. wood craving, standee and etc)

Most common content people share are screen shots of their gameplay. So, you might want to ask, why is gamic different from the rest?

Gamic concept combines player story, comic, and computer graphic. You only need the following items to create a simple gamic.

  • A storyboard writeup / sketch
  • Related in-game screenshots (<—yes just screenshots)
  • Some supporting computer graphics (you can get alot from forums and websites ; optional though)
  • A graphic editing softwar
