They will both be sold. -Gran Turismo PSP will be shown at E3, Metal Gear Solid title announced. One thing is for sure, the PSP Go is real. This confirms it. Game Over: Boy Commits Suicide After Parents Ban GamingCategory: Random Posted on 2009-05-25 02:13:37 Add to Bookmark |
|
A 12-year-old schoolboy leapt from a sixth floor veranda after his parents decreed that he could no longer play computer games. The boy, who lived near Bangkok, Thailand, was apparently an avid gamer, and was distraught that his parents had banned him from gaming. Police searching his mobile found that he had sent numerous mails to friends complaining of the ban, and saying “tomorrow is my last day.” According to classmates the boy arrived at school Thailand normally, but after placing his bag at his desk headed straight out onto a sixth floor veranda, with a grim expression on his face, and there immediately jumped to his doom. Just which game or games prompted this unfortunate case is not mentioned. Thailand’s Ministry of Health criticised the parents for their handling of the case saying “For children addicted to gaming, the most effective approach is not to ban games but to regulate the time spent gaming.” Surprised? No, we have been so fed up with things like this but the answers or solutions would never be figured out |

Rape Games Far More Dangerous Than Normal PornCategory: Japan Posted on 2009-05-22 12:11:38 Add to Bookmark |

Japan’s Koumeito party, long a member of the ruling coalition, has condemned adult games featuring sexual coercion and violence as being a highly negative influence on Japan’s tiny rates of sex crimes. They are calling for a ban or further restrictions on their sale. As part of the deliberations of its “Project Team for Creating a Protective Rearing Environment for Children” it leapt on the anti-eroge bandwagon, offering a variety of baseless claims, such as: “There is a very good chance that the influence of violent sex games far exceeds that of regular pornography.” They claimed that “research” into the influence of such rape games is lagging in Japan, as compared to the English speaking world, well known as a bastion of child safety. Their (foregone) conclusion was that the government must consider a ban or further restrictions on eroge in order to protect the children from their pernicious influence. No evidence, scientific or otherwise, was presented in support of any of their claims. As usual, a quick reproduction of actual international sex crime statistics demolishes their arguments, showing Japan to be amongst the safest countries |

"Noob" In The Running For Millionth English Word HonoursCategory: Random Posted on 2009-05-18 03:01:25 Add to Bookmark |

According to this MSN news report the word “noob” alongside “chiconomics” and “defriend” are candidates to be selected as the millionth English word next month. Global Language Monitor has stated that on June 10th at 10:22am the milestone figure will be passed and the title given. The rapid increase in new words being generated is due to the massive rise in popularity the English language has undergone in Asia. The English language is currently experiencing it’s most fertile period since the times of William Shakespeare with a new term being coined every 98 minutes. The Texas based association acknowledge a new word once it’s usage reaches 25000 within the media and social networking sites. The Chief analyst at the Global Language Monitor stated that “Despite having a million words at our disposal it is unlikely that we will ever use more than just a tiny fraction of them.” From a gaming perspective we would certainly love to see the word noob bestowed with such a landmark honour. |

Update: RapeLay raped off Japanese shelves for goodCategory: Japan Posted on 2009-05-14 11:02:57 Add to Bookmark |

It seems the campaign against Rapelay didn't fail, earlier today destructoid reported a update news that Rapelay has been taken off shelves in Japan due to the consuming campaign over America against the gameplay of raping teenagers.
"This is one of those stories that makes us happy, not because we want to see RapeLay, the controversial game that was "discovered" on Amazon.com, taken off store shelves, but because it proves a point. I always hear about how messed up Japan is because they play games depicting rape, so on and so forth. Well, that's not the case here because Canned Dogs reports that mainstream Japan has caught word of this game, and begun doing news reports on it. And this news has made a lot of non-otaku people mad. In response to this, Illusion has removed Rapelay from their website, and is now out of production. This is probably due to all the complaints filed against this game over in America, which has bled over to Japan thanks to the internet, whatever that is. So next time you see something weird from Japan, don’t blame them for being so messed up, blame t |

Surviving The FlamesCategory: Random Posted on 2009-05-14 12:20:01 Add to Bookmark |

Shadowlol, a blogger at gameriot posted an article talking about how to survive the internet flames which is very nice reading. You know sometimes we didn't mean to start the flame war, but once the flames come to you, how to react is really a big question. Here is his article: People often send emails and rather graphic private messages proclaiming their love for me and seeking advice. One question that crops up more often than not is, Shadow, how is it possible for one man to contain such inhuman levels of both awesome and win, all the while maintaining such an impressively sized penis? To which I respond… well, no, I have yet to respond. You see responses – at least those which relate in any way to the question posed – are for the weak and chromosomally challenged (more on that later).

Schoolgirl fight posted on YouTubeCategory: Default Posted on 2009-05-13 01:41:22 Add to Bookmark |

Read a news from MSN: An investigation is under way after a film of teenage schoolgirls fighting was posted on video-sharing website YouTube. The Avonbourne pupils were shown pulling each other's hair, throwing punches and pushing, with one girl ending up on the ground. The film then showed other girls in school uniforms joining the scuffle near the secondary school in Bournemouth, Dorset, before Easter. The footage has since been removed from the site and the school has launched an investigation. A stepfather who has complained about bullying at the all-girls school told the Daily Echo newspaper: "In a way we are pleased it has appeared on YouTube because the school cannot ignore it any more."You could see the faces of all the girls involved very clearly, so they should be able to deal with the problem." His 14-year-old stepdaughter has been knocked unconscious in a school changing room and pushed downstairs in a three-year campaign of bullying since she joined the school, he said. The parent said some pupils, including those who posted the video on YouTube, have since been excluded. Avonbourne, a Business and Enterprise College, has an anti-bullying policy, acc |
