The Lord of the Rings Online Creatures of Middle-earthseries has seen a few changes since the LotRO Lorebook went up. Entriesnow link directly to the lorebook monster wiki.

The latest Creatures article focuses on Salamanders. These beastsare dragon-kind that have retained the ability to breathe fire. Theyalso share their ancestors’ love of hoarding treasure. Their numbersare few, and they are unlikely to be found save in the most isolatedplaces.

Perpetual Entertainment have announced that they will be releasing some beta codes for Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising. The keys are being given out to help facilitate the stability test that will be happening over the weekend.

Beforeyou go rushing off to get a beta key though, you might want to knowwhat the game is about first. Players will be placed in a veryproblematic time in the history of Rome.A race of beings that theOlympian gods imprisoned has returned from exile seeking vengeance.They start their assault by kidnapping all of Rome's heroes andinciting beasts, creatures, and rival cultures to attack the city.

NCsoft has announced the first details on the latest City of Heroes and City of VillainsA Stitch in Time expansion. It adds a two new power sets, locations, and gear long time players willdefinitely appreciate.

The new power sets, Dual Blades and Willpower, are available for Tankers, Scrappers, Brutes, and Stalkers. Dual Blades allow characters to wield two weaponssimultaneously. It also adds a new combo system giving players newadvantages depending on the order of attacks performed. Will Power onthe other hand gives players more resistance, defense, and regenerationall in one package.

The new locations are somewhat varied considering players are given achance to "Flashback" or return to the past and experience some of themajor turning points in Paragon City's history for themselves. Heroes get a chance totake part in missions like Circle of Thorns where they must stop ademon from entering the world. Villains on the other hand get a chanceto help Lord Recluse in taking over the Rogue Isles.

The new gear is pretty solid considering players will be getting newinventions for taunt, buff, debuff powers and more. In addition, veryrare purple purple sets have also been thrown in though they

Many years ago, Aragorn, the Chieftain ofthe Dúnedain, came to Evendim himself to reclaim a lost treasure, ajewel known as the Silithar. Though Aragorn did not succeed in itsrecovery, his companion Calenglad and a small party of Rangers remainedin Evendim, establishing an encampment on the island of Tinnudir fromwhich to protect the Silithar from lowly tomb-robbers.

A veritable bevy of sites has fresh D&D Tactics reviews up for you to enjoy. We'll start with RPGWatch, who offer a good read as usual.At the beginning of the review I mentioned being of two minds about thegame, yet it would be easy to pull a singular view from the review -that I hate the game. Yet I don't hate it; in fact I truly enjoy thegame. For over a month I had two games - D&D Tactics and JeanneD'Arc - alternating in my PSP ... then I got a new PSP and had one ineach system until I eventually finished.

The bottom line is this- the game is full of issues and quirks, but it is like so many PCRPG's in that regard. It reminds me of Temple of Elemental Evil when itfirst came out - there were plenty of problems, but it was fun and thecombat was solid. And that is ultimately what it is all about. I workedaround the camera issues because exploration was fun. I adapted tofinding all chests before killing the last monster because I wanted allof the loot. I figured out how to deal with the game not telling youabout encumbrance issues so I wouldn't have to leave anything behind.And more than anything, I dealt with whatever inconvenience the gamethrew at me because I found the application

NPCs, Splits, and You

The current guild battle metagame favors teams capable of splittingwell. With builds investing heavily in static defenses, splits areoften necessary to produce kills and advantages in battle. At the sametime, successful splits can often create an NPC advantage, which ismore important due to changes to VoD. With a 200% damage buff againstthe Guild Lord, a large NPC swarm applies heavy pressure at the flagstand.
