Good news for all rohan players: The eagerly-awaited Township Battle system will be added to the game during next maintenance(7/15/08).
What are Township Battles? Basically, they are organized guild battles in which you can win more than just pride.
There are 2 kinds of Township Battles:
Minor Township Battles will begin on 7/16, and will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 10am PST. They are a miniature version of the Major Battles, these are guild battles with 50 guild members on each side. Friday Township Battles will be slightly different. These will take place at 10am PST as well, however no member limit restrictions will be in place on the Friday Township Battles. Winners of the Saturday Battles will be restricted from participating in Friday Minor Township Battles.
Major Township Battles will begin on 7/19, and will take place each Saturday at 1pm PST. Entire guilds wage war to claim ownership of the towns within the continent of Rohan. Winners will receive special Champion's Armor, and will have the ability to set tax rates within the town to earn money for their guild.
