My Adventures as a WoW Death Knight

I thought I’d have fun starting off a new character at level 55 thinking, hey it will be easy to get to level 85 and start some serious PvP action.  And getting to level 85 wasn’t that hard, but getting that damn arena gear is such a bind.

Do Baradin Hold I hear you say and you’re right it would be great to pick up the smaller Cata gear and the leggings from there, but I don’t have any PvE gear and that’s a bit of handicap, especially when players don’t want you on their team because of it.  It’s also not easy, on my server anyway, to find enough people doing a BH run.  Can anyone tell me what PvP guilds are active on Nagrand?  Maybe if I join a PvP guild, or one that’s got an active PvP group, life will become a lot easier?  It would also be helpful if players used the raid finder, but I tried that avenue and found I was the only person listed for BH.

Why is it that the gear is not the same for both PvP and PvE?  We all pay the same monthly subscription so surely we should all be able to flit between the two when we feel like a change?  But we can’t because we have to acquire gear that is suitable for the environment we are playing in.  It is not possible for a casual player to spend the time required to obtain both sets of gear.  For example my grind for the Cataclysmic gear will probably not be completed before the next season is upon us, or will it be the new expansion this time?  I know there is a beta to run first, so it will probably be another season.

Blizzard probably made a conscious decision to make it difficult to obtain both sets of gear within a season, but it’s fundamentally flawed and unfair.  I pay my monthly fee and I want to play both.  There wasn’t anything in the start up pack telling me I couldn’t do both.  So come on Blizzard play fair and and give us gear that allows us to do both.  I’m not sure how this can be achieved but it should be as simple as giving PvE gear resilience and PvP the extra stat spot required.

I look forward to the day this happens and I hope I am not hoping in vain : )
