The guys at Wargaming.net have a lot to be proud of this week. With the help of their tank-based MMO World of Tanks, the studio managed to walk away with three awards from the annual Game Developers Conference in Moscow, Russia, which was held on May 13 and 14.

The F2P game managed to snag the Best Game Award, a very pretigious title in it's own right, as well as the Audience Award. The studio itself also grabbed the Games Industry Award for their development on the game.

"It’s a big honor for us,” Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi said. "We took our time to develop World of Tanks to make sure that we were putting out a top quality game, and the award for the Best Game of 2011 that we’ve been honored with is additional proof of what a great project we’ve managed to create. I would also like to thank the gamedev representatives for giving us the Industry Award. And, of course the most important, a very special thanks to the players who supported us and made the Audience Award possible. We are working 24/7 and won’t stop until World of Tanks reaches perfection”.

Not wanting to let the success get in their way of business, the studio released patch 0.6.4 onto live servers today, which brings new tanks, two new maps for players to duke it out in, as well as enhanced physics and server modifications. They've also announced the launch date for their Ultimate Conquest clan war mode, which will debut on May 19. This mode will allow players all over the globe to fight it out with each other in order to conquer various territories.

Talk about a productive week.
