Today I am sitting here at home thinking about the things that happened in 2011… It was a busy year full of surprises and disasters, but since no one around here really cares about the natural disasters or the political drama all across the world… I better get to the point of gaming.

So what do we have here? Well, 2011 was like a never ending storm, full of surprises and full of crap at the same time. I will try to keep this events in what I call the neutral state, there is no good or bad… Only a bunch of things that just happened… ok

1. This year we saw a few mayor releases in the mmo world… Rift for the most part was the main event, its kinda unfortunate that the game is not what it used to be anymore in terms of player population but at least they manage to be a lot more than the usual “Fail” mmo.

2. TOR was another big title released in 2011, the only problem is that this game really needs more time to prove itself… We still don’t know if this game is going to be a ground shaking title or another flop. So far the general community is already divided into the Lovers and Haters groups…

3. Massive Hacking!!!!!! HAXX!!!!!! That’s right, a lot of game companies were targeted by some smarties that actually enjoy stealing information and causing digital mayhem… I am not sure if all this hacking episodes are indeed real but more than companies got hacked this year… Sony, Nintendo, Trion.. etc…

4. CCP seems to be getting into the right tracks with the crucible expansion. Some people is praising this expansion because of the fixes and addition it contains, after all the previous expansions have been kinda lacking… Anyone else besides me enjoys walking and sitting down in a couch???? Incarna??? Greed is Good.PDF??? As some of you already know CCP really needs to recover after a few PR disasters, let’s hope they keep the good work they did in crucible.

5. APB is live!!! NO Crap, The game is finally out and is official lol! No more Betas and no more smokescreens. Now if you feel like behaving like a total “Douche” you can download the game using steam and get in the game for free… Just beware!!! The new game modes are a mess! So nothing is different from this release compared to the Beta…

6. Jumpgate Evolution turns out to be vaporware…! This one is probably a controversial one because there is no real evidence of vaporware.  All you have around the place is a bunch of corporate drama around this game and no actual development going, last time they released a trailer was more than a year ago and after that, no more words about this game.  I am wondering if this game still exists as a bunch of raw un-compiled code somewhere.

7. DC Universe goes F2P… That’s right, the Superman or Batman mmo went F2P before its first birthday. Low population, Sony hacking mayhem and a few other game factors like the broken CC mechanics are probably what caused this game to go downhill. Oh wait! There is more, they also broke their promise of monthly updates...

8. TERA turns out to be another flop in the Korean region, I don’t know all the details because I dotn live in Korea guys but I heard that this game is was not what people expected, it even failed at toping up Aion, I don’t want to be a backstabber but if you fail to beat Aion… Your game really SUCK!!!!

9. Aion!!! Will go F2P in Europe. About time this game is going to be F2P… The only problem is that they only mentioned Europe when they released the F2P news. If you live outside of Europe, then you are out of luck, no free Aion for you I guess, all we can do is wait until NCsoft finally realize that Aion should be for free in NA too…

Anyway that is what I can remember about 2011, I know that there is a lot more, but including all the details of everything will require whole new year to compile lol!!! Plz, leave a comment with more events that happened this year and save every other comment for yourself…
