Online dating and MMORPG's

 Hello, hello, today I feel like talking about some stuff that seems to really in a sense get people all mad and ussaly calling eachother names, yes thats right people who try and date in mmorpg's and get all mad to ussaly find out they were being played a fool. Formost also this is really something in my opion about people who I guess think mmorpg's are for dating and such, I'll break this down in a few topics.

 Men playing female/ Women playing male charaters.

 Well depending on who you are and how you think alot of people don't grab a concept about the abbervation rpg ( roleplaying game ) and really just tends to think in thier little own perfect world mind that if its a woman in game it's gotta be a woman playing it and vice versa. Now what ussaly causes alot of drama and stuff is mostly that alot of guys that play male charaters don't ever seem to consider that just becasue the online charater is a female one that maybe the person playing isn't really female at all, and ( being someone that plays female charaters alot ) from what I see is most guys ussaly tend to just send you P.M's or whispers ( whatever you want to call it ) from stuff like " Your so hot " to things that make me ussaly want to comit myself to a hostpal as it takes me days to stop cringing at what I read.

 Big problem is reguardless if anyone wants to agree to it is that people ussaly set themselfs up for letdowns and such ( this isnt talking about males playing female charaters and lie about thier gender if asked ) where some might say something in local chats to get told " Back off I'm really  dude " then most people also gotta act like  " OMG why are you playing a female charater you must be gay " ( or something around those lines ussaly something to make it seem like thier not the one at fault ), but really while people start this stuff up this is also not even considered as a two edged sword(1). But really in a situation where they guy admits it off the bat at a comment like this to warn the other one about this he/she ussaly gets the blame as if they had no right to chose a gender oposite to them ( even though the game lets you do it. ) Honestly though in reality and keeping it real if you make passes on someone in a mmorpg game and not even dare to ask first on a person's gender at all it's your own fault for not protecting yourself ( and even then just becasue someone says there a certain gender in RL dosen't mean they really are its the internet and you can't see them at all so questionbility and carefulness is always a must unless you want to get tricked or get put in a uneasy situation becasue you didn't even ask ) and even so unless it's a game that requires you to use a gender by your account registering gender asking you what gender you are then you should never take someone word for it off the bat(2).

 MMORPG's are the worst for internet dating!!

 Of course I'll get to hear it about how I am so wrong on this, but thats fine this is only my opion on this after all. There are games and even sites and other things made just for online matchmaking and dating(3), mmorpg's that allow anyone to play male or female genders are more and likely not ment for dating and trying to find that specal someone. Really!! just becasue the game as some system in there like marriage and stuff like that dosen't mean it's ment for this stuff, maybe couples in RL might play together and marry in the game but if you are doing this with someone who you never even met or seen at all chances are you don't know nothing about them at all. Honestly though there are things you can ask to try and help prevent you from getting embarrassed or getting letdown or upset in the end. . . . .

 1. Ask a person in a whisper what there gender is before even attempting to make a comment on them at all.

 2. Just because they say thier male/female keep alert and don't expect this to be all the time thier telling the truth.

 3. Best way is to accualy play around them alot and get them comftable with questng with you and maybe running instances and such ( but still while this might help them accualy be more truthfull some will still lie. )

 4. If they have a viewable bio see if they have male in RL or something simular to let people know, meaning accualy open thier bio up and read it!! ( I know if i have a bio I can write in I do this. )

 If you do all this and someone was lieing to you and you find out best thing to do is to just not talk to them as they were probly trying to scame you out of stuff or such ( this dose not mean you ask get told thier the otehr gender and get all pissed if they are honest thats different it's also up to you as the person doing thiese things such as makeing passes at charaters and such to ask them for thier gender before doing such, if you don't it's your own fault if you get embarressed being told they are really not the gender they are playing. ) Really don't call people gay also becasue the same can be said about you also ( it's the internet who knows ) as like said before its a two edged sword.

 To sum it up all to a point now mmorpg is a game ment to play a role meaning a guy might play a female archer or a woman might play a male paladin ect. Crossgendering also can be a considered type of roleplay as alot of people just tend to play to play not to date at all. There is nothing wrong with rping out stories and such and even crossgendered roles as such, as mmorpg's was not ment to be taken as a " OMG !!! that girlz is so's hot's!!! I want's her's real's lifez!! "(4) So basically if your gonna try to find women/men in a mmorpg always remember you never really know who is really at the other end of the pc, and really there are other sites and stuff for just dating and matchmaking try though out as I still will say mmorp's are the worst place to date or find someone.(5)

(1) Meaning that alot of people can also turn the table on you in many ways from how you didn't even bother to ask or the fact you being a guy/woman like to watch your own gender in game ect. Basically meaning keep the gay comments to yourself unless you want chances at it hitting you also.

(2)This commented on maily that most mmorpg's dont restict you to your own gender, these games ussaly are in no way ment or where made for dating purposes at all ( even if marriage system is in the game ) especally seeing alot of people just trying to get off as it can be put as, and really games with rateing such as teen or the site saying must be 13 or older to register without parents consent how do you now know if the person on the other end is really a kid. There are games made for getting off on or even for dating and such as most mmorpg's systems are geared towards a roleplayed romance not so sex fest.

(3)Really if you join one of these sites or games and someone else is crossgendering then they will more and liky get banned as these services and games are geared towards people playing thier own genders and dating and such. So in this case is someone is playing crossgender then they lied on thier registration process meaning ( unless the company is crap ) they are up for banning for breaking ToS.

(4) That comment was intenonaly made to sound stupid and look stupid ;)

(5) This comment while I find it true others might have accualy found thier soul mates in real life over a mmorpg game, but still just becasue you get a few that do dosen't mean you should just go for it blindly, take measures to understand that it's the internet and unless you really know this person in real life they could be anyone and any gender reguardless what they tell you, and if you are gonna meet someone in real life from a game make sure you bring friends and its in a very public place and don't leave off with someone off the bat do this over quite a few times process to try and get to knwo someone ( if someone seems like a werido after some time of talking to them or is very non-discloseur abotu themselfs then you might want to back off, please note looks don't count at making someone being a weirdo. ) Just keep in mind that alot of people end up hurt, killed or missing becaue of not taking proper steps to keep themselfs safe.
