0 Digg it    WindStory... MapleSlayer...oh wait... neither.

As many could see articles about these two games WindSlayer and MapleStory have been popping up rather quickly as of late and the reason is simple... They look almost exactly the same, or at least extremely similar.  You may ask; "why does that matter?" well simply enough it can be claimed that WindSlayer is basically a rip-off of MapleStory, which by no means is worth actually ripping off. Obviously WindSlayer is still in development and not fully completed but its compelling look is decidedly very much like MapeStory and is in no uncertain terms lacking ingenuity.

Firstly I would like to state that MapleStory, although free, is NOT worth copying. The game itself is rather lackluster in not only appearance but community as well.  I am sure some of you will argue that MapleStory is a great game and fun to play but in reality while it had some fun concepts and interesting gameplay plainly the community for the game is so bad that it tends to really push away new players. In other words the immaturity and just plain stupidity of players on the game makes the game entirely not fun to play what-so-ever. I have played MapleStory and I both enjoyed and hated the game at the

The WAR
  Views: 197  |  Category : Articles |  Post time : Apr 24, 2008    Comments: 0  |  Bookmark
Now the title itself should indicate that this article is about...well... war, right? That is in fact correct today's lovely article brought to you by yours truly is about a battle between gaming formats... console or computer (or what I will label as "computron" for aesthetic purposes). Now the reason why I bring this tired subject up is because I was just recently playing on a console and now so readily typing on the computer.
As most of us know the difference between computron games and console games is literally variety.  Generally it is known that computron games are primarily based around LAN or multiplayer type content rather then single player content, no that it is not true for some computer games such as "Oblivion", but in most cases when you walk into your local gaming store/electronics depot and computer games are being showcased what content is primarily being represented? Multiplayer from MMORPG to RTS or FPS (for those of you acronym impaired that would be Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game,  Real Time Strategy, and First Person Shooter.) Not to say that the selection of computron games is not noteworthy, it is obviously quite exte

Game Attention Deficit Disorder?
  Views: 361  |  Category : Articles |  Post time : Apr 23, 2008    Comments: 4  |  Bookmark
Lately I have been noticing a phenomena that has not only effected my gamer friends but myself as well. Now I am going to coin this phrase but I do believe it could be true. G.A.D.D. (Gamer Attention Deficit Disorder), this disorder I am going to refer to is most likely made up but the name is relevant to the concept. As with true A.D.D. a person is constantly distracted and is always looking, or more less finding, something else to focus on then what they should be. Now the reason I apply this to an idea about gamers is too fold, firstly in game play, and second in choice of games.

The standard G.A.D.D. afflicted gamer can be noticed quite early while in game with them. These are the people that when you start a raid or you want to PvP, possibly even help with a quest... they suddenly vanish or a slew of other 'symptoms'. Here is a list to show you all who may be afflicted with G.A.D.D. in game play; Sudden need to go to a bathroom as soon as rules for an event are being established and then complaining they didn't see the rules later, the 'leecher' a person who agrees to party with you in game and then chooses to do nothing but let you fight for them and sap all th

Mabinogi OB so Far
  Views: 560  |  Category : Articles |  Post time : Mar 21, 2008    Comments: 4  |  Bookmark
Since the opening of the Open Beta, I personally have not had much time to play through Mabinogi. This article will only be a mini-review so far of the basics of the game, I will flesh the article out later as I get more experience with the game.  However I can say that the game's mechanics are very unique and rather fun in comparison to most other MMORPGs.
Firstly, character customization is simplified with the free account but still fairly in depth for your first character.  It would seem that the full customization options shall come with the 'premium' character cards one can obtain from in game store, or off the main website. However, that is only speculation in reference to how the other Mabinogi servers have run their character creation options. In essence the game is free to play, but to be able to access many functions of the game you would need to purchase a 'Premium' character card.  Although that may seem tricky, in reality if you plan to play Mabinogi extensively it is a fair deal for what you would recieve.
The Premium character cards from other sources allow you to use the full character customization, including; hair styles, clothes, race, etc. Also as a

What is an MMO?

This topic may be a simple question, but I believe that the answer has changed an immense amount from the beginning of Massively Multi-player Online games.

Originally MMO's were just that simple, a game yo
