“The tale of Auric of the deserts is perhaps a shrewd allegory to the fall of man. A wise and knowledgeable researcher, he had devoted his life's work to perfecting the ancient art of alchemy. However, upon discovering the vaunted power of transmutation, his lust for knowledge turned to greed, and within the span of a few mad days all around him was transformed to gold. Realizing what he had done, he gave an anguished cry and set out to atone for his sins.” –HoN’s Website
Being that this is news on a new champion, I thought it was bit more fitting to start out with the lore of the champion first, before boring you with other details, not to mention they do a lot better of a job telling you about the hero than how I would explain it.
Midas is a new ranged based Hero that does damage with each of his skills; he also has the ability of stunning a group of enemies if they’re hit by more than one of his spells, which makes him very useful in group fights. What is interesting yet is that while all of his skills do damage, his second skill, Lion’s Pride, can also heal your team as well for a small amount. The skill itself will only do damage on the landing point, but as it passes through allies they get healed.
Personally I like the look of this hero so far, and I plan on giving him a go once he is in the free week window and if my net decides to be a bit more stable. The damage and stun abilities make him very appealing to me, while the healing may make up for me most likely playing horrible as him for my first few games, hopefully.
