For parties interested (like myself), the Salem team have updated their statuses on Facebook and Twitter to state that they're finally working on getting those acceptance letters out to people. They said it will happen either this week or next week at the latest. They've also mentioned that the game's closed beta will be at the end of the month, so if you've had an itch for this game since it was announced and you've gotten past the three friends needed to get into the game, you won't have to wait much longer.
For those who haven't followed the game, it is set in a mutable world where players are what drives and shapes it. You're able to chop down trees to make a house, fish for food, hunt and skin animals, and even raid other players if you so chose. The world isn't without repercussions however, as it does feature a perma-death system which means if your character dies, he is gone. Future character will inherit some of the characteristics and skills of the predecessor, but everything else is gone. This makes what choices you make in the game even more vital, if you decide to be a tyrannical person, that mind end up biting you in the arse as players may band to take you out.
The premise of the game actually comes from Sea Tribes other title, Haven and Hearth. This is also what got the "big shots" at Paradox to want to go through with the idea of this game. Though the games are similar in many aspects, they are different in the core execution of the games. Also, this will most likely have less lag than Haven; which if you've played haven, you know what I mean.
If you haven't registered for the game yet, you can do it with this referral link for me, or without. Up to you. Either way, I hope I see you all in the game.
