So the patch preview for the latest patch has come out, at least in video form. This one I believe is including the new champion (Varus) that was previewed around the time Heracim was announced. But as you know these don't really showcase the champion that is coming in, as they like to do that with spotlights around that time; instead this focuses on the changes that are coming in the next patch and how it affects various aspects of the game.

First off they're giving a buff to support tanks to Alistar, Amumu, Leona, Nunu, and Taric, giving them more magic resist per level, which will give them a bit more survivability in the front lines and be able to last there a bit longer. They picked these champions since they're typically the ones not making as much gold early on and this allows them to feel more like actual tanks later on. Though I do agree with champions like Alistar and Taric getting this buff, I am not too sure on ones like Nunu, who actually does fairly well from most matches I have seen on getting gold. He also has the ability to survive the front lines fairly easy early on since all he needs to do is take a bite out of a creep to heal up.

They're also tweaking champions like Master Yi and Ryze. Master Yi is just getting a cool down reduction to his ultimate, as they feel that will allow him to do what he needs to do, and in effect be "Master Yi". I am sort of indifferent to it, I like Master Yi and especially his ability to escape or just chase down runners with ease, but I am not sure how much he really needed a cool down reduction, I never thought in game that the current one was that bad, and if it is in a team fight and he gets a kill while it is on, it refreshes anyhow. But I doubt they will reduce it by that much, so I am just indifferent to that. As for Ryze, they're tweaking him a bit to not be a tank who deals out massive amounts of damage and to make him viable for more than one build. They're trying to shape him into being more of an actual caster like he should be. They're also tweaking his skill "Spell Flux" to favor attacking champions over minions or creeps, which is what it should have done in the first place.

Another change they're throwing at us is some of the changes to the ability power items. This includes upping the cost for Will of the Ancients (Love that item), Changing the item combo for Morello's Tome to have Kage's Lucky Pick, and Changing the items for Deathfire Grasp which makes it lose mana regen and instead gains more AP.

So, a lot of changes to the game, some as you can tell from the YouTube comments, people already aren't happy about. Some of the champs I often play are getting altered a bit, so I sort of look forward to trying them out again after the patch, same with one of my favorite items, Will of the Ancients, which I am worried at what the cost is. But as usual, I am curious to what you guys think. What do you think of this patch?
