Newly Update: US accounts can now sign up for the Wrath of the Lich King beta by visiting the following link. Just remember that being chosen for beta is random, so even if you sign up early, it doesn't promise you a shot at the Wrath beta. Anyway, stop reading this post and sign up!
It looks like today IS the Wrath of the Lich King beta day. We've just learned that the beta opt-in for WotLK is now live in Europe.
You can find the beta opt-in signups by visiting the Account Management menu on your European WoW account. Once there, you should see an added option to sign up for the beta. The screenshot above shows you what to expect once you try to sign up.
As for North America, there's also some good news. Eyonix reminded players to "stay tuned," as the beta signups for that region are coming "super soon."
In any event, what are you waiting for? Go sign up for the beta already if you're on the European realms!

Diablo III is coming? Really? I need to say I'm not sure. But imo the game will launch on June 29th, 2008.. Why do I say so? Read those following points, u will agree with me. 1st: Do u still remember the time when Diablo II and Biablo II: Lord of Destruction come out? Yep, it's on the June 29th, 2000 and June 29th, 2001. 2nd: Blizzard will hold its WWI08 in Paris on June 28th and 29th. Omg.. Yep, the same date as the last two versions. 3rd: As we know that the age limite in WWI was always 12+ before, that means the game in WWI dont have any age-limited. But this time Blizzard. EU announced in their FAQ: "Due to the nature of some content at the 2008 Blizzard Entertainment Worldwide Invitational, attendees under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or responsible adult (of 18 years and above)" Original Test: http://eu.blizzard.com/wwi08/faq.xml#2_3That means this time. Blz will add 16+ content in WWI. And Diablo 2 is rated 16+ in Europe. 4th. The Blizzard's official fansite: StarcraftLegacy, also add Diablo III in its Database. So.. Diablo will Back On June 29th?? Do u think so after you take a read for the reasons above? Anyway, I hope I'm right.. I keep on loo

Apparently, some people are still thinking of the viability of having World of Warcraft on the PS3 and Xbox 360. Well, it's one of the most successful MMORPGs of all-time, so maybe porting it over to other platforms is a good thing, for financial reasons (if you're following Square Enix's line of thought).
However, running parallel to Hideo Kojima's statement yesterday (about MGS4 being impossible for the Xbox 360 because the game wasn't designed for the 360 in the first place), J. Allen Brack and Tom Chilton of Blizzard both agree that WoW was always intended to be played on the PC.
In a recent interview with Videogamer, they both reiterated the fact that WoW won't be heading for consoles.
Brack says that WoW was "designed to have a keyboard and a mouse" and that the controls are really - to use Kojima's word from yesterday - optimized for a PC control scheme. Brack continues: "If you think about mapping those controls and all those different type of buttons that you have to a console without a keyboard for chatting, it's a very challenging proposition."
Chilton, likewise, explained that it's not a worthwhile endeavor to bring WoW to consoles;
It's really |

In a recent interview with Blizzard's J. Allen Brack and Tom Chilton, they squashed every console gamers' hopes of seeing the highly acclaimed MMO, World of Warcraft, boxed neatly inside a console. Also discussed were several other topics regarding the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King, as well as other new content for the game.
Chilton was also rather excited about the new achievement system that they will be introducing soon. It will definitely give players something to strive for and extend their gameplay even further.
When asked about the hardest challenge the developers have encountered so far, Brack answered that the insertion of the new Death Knight class was the biggest hurdle they've faced. However, with the beta phase for WotLK well underway, modifications are still being made to the new character class before its official release with the new expansion.
One of the more interesting things they discussed was Blizzard's take on MMOs made for consoles and social networks. This doesn't necessarily mean gamers should hope for a console version of WoW soon. Brack specifically mentioned while this may work with other MMOs, this setup wouldn't really work with World of Warcraft. |

Those of you who thought the grind in NCsoft's Lineage 2 was getting a little too tedious, then you'll love the new changes brought about in the latest "free to subscriber" update for the game. Gracia - Part 1 introduces a new leveling system which will dramatically speed up character advancement, especially for the newer players.
This is due in part to the new Vitality system, which rewards additional experience for time spent away from the game or in safe zones. This is not unlike the resting bonus offered in Blizzard's own MMO, World of Warcraft. Characters start out with maximum Vitality, giving them a much easier time gathering experience at the start of their day.
NCsoft's North American producer Tim Tan had this to say regarding the new system:
The increase in leveling speed allows players to create new characters and advance nearly twice as fast as before. This will allow players to experience the meat of Lineage II quickly, giving them the ability to visit new and exciting areas and cool high-level content much quicker than before. While this game is still a hardcore game, these changes with Gracia – Part 1 make the game much more accessible to new players |

Blizzard Entertainment has given further confirmation that the upcoming launch of World of Warcraft's Wrath of the Lich King expansion will indeed happen this year. In the fourth quarter, to be a little more precise.
"I can tell you it's not coming in the July to September quarter," said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime during a recent conference call after assuring WoW fans that Wrath of the Lich King will be released in 2008.
Morhaime also said that the expansion's beta testing, which started last month, is "going very well". As for their competitors, Morhaime noted that 40 percent of WoW gamers who made the move to Age of Conan have since returned.
We'll be sure to keep an eye out for a more specific release date for Wrath of the Lich King, so keep checking back here for more WoW updates.

While it may be a while before Square Enix can top Final Fantasy 11's current Wings of the Goddess expansion, that doesn't mean they won't keep the game polished and fresh. The devs are announcing that FF11's next version update is expected to arrive by early September.
At the moment, this update is expected to continue the episodic nation quests for the Wings of the Goddess expansion. It is also expected to implement several battle-related tweaks and additions, as well as make adjustments to fellows and Campaign.
Keep note that this is just an initial announcement, with more details regarding Square Enix's planned changes to emerge in the near future. Visit us again in case we receive any more word regarding this matter. |

Let me tell you of a friend of mine, Drenai, who rolled a barbarian in Funcom's Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. When the July 17 patch came in, the slower attack speed really took away quite a bit of his enjoyment of the game.
He said that he rolled a Reaver barbarian because they were supposed to be fast attacking characters, and this wasn't what he signed up for. Well, here's some good news for him and the rest of those who feel the same way. It is a bug and will be fixed.
On the testlive server forums, Svein Erik "Sharum" Jenset, Striketeam Lead: BCC Design, gave the gamers an update on this. Apparently, the tooltip claiming that the attack speed is 2.0 seconds on many weapons is "bugged and reports erroneously". In addition, he also pointed out that the data for different weapons in both the TestLive and Live servers are corrupted:
TestLive data: 1HE, 1HB, 1HE/B+Dagger, 1HE/B+1HE/B, Dagger+Dagger, Unarmed and Unarmed+1HE/B/Dagger data is corrupted for both Male and Female characters. A fix for this is on its way and should hopefully be patched to TestLive tomorrow or the day after.
Live data: Male 1HE data and Female 1HB data is partially corrupted. I'm |
