WoW Disease

I have a lvl48 character on perfect world that that says PW is nothing like wow... not even close! This is in response to the crackhead that called PW a WoW clone.

 

I would like to ask, In what way?

 

Secondly, Perfect World has been around since 2005, were it was originally released in China,  the development having started in 2004!

Please provide a real basis on your accusations to any mmo and proof that you have any experience in the field whatsoever, and that you have at least played any of these games past lvl20....

Seriously, the majority of numbskulls that were introduced to MMO's primarily through WoW have a repitive pattern of being ignorant and assumptive of MMORPGs that they have NO or very little information about!

 Addtionally, you get the typical WoW community judging games that have also not even been released yet. Its a disease that plagues the MMO community.


 WoW players are just gamers, and from my experience, they are also agnostic and arrogant by a large percentage, and often consider WoW to be God, or original!

 Those who were introduced into MMORPGs in the era of EQ1, Ultima, or have had the patience to lvl past 90 in Korean meat grinders like Rappelz, L2, amongst many other true purebred mmo can be considered more of as people enjoying their hobby.


Wow is NOT the first,

WoW is NOT original.

WoW is NOT cloned by every second MMO out there.....

Play the games first before you attempt to embarrass youself in front of thousands!

they even said FFXI was a wow clone and those guys seemed serious enough FFXI has been released in 2002 and WoW in 2004 Find the error

 i have a friend who plays wow quite a bit and he knows it doesnt have great graphics and such but its good because they actually update quite a lot which one of the good points and the server my friend was in he had quite a lot of funny.like once the alliance and the horde had a gaint dance party in the woods and another time was that the horde sent tons people to die in a city so there was so many dead bodies that u would lag tons lol.  also when he was a noob fighting some monster and about to die a horde guy actually saved him, pretty amazing huh.  i also heard there are a lot people who people who are just plain annoying

i want to play another game as good as WoW and no i dont like warhammer T.T so bored now
I wish they would make another warcraft game ~ warcraft 4 T.T ~ i played warcraft 3 campaign back and itso awesome, the voice, the character, the story T.T warcraft3=epic game

Heh I bought WoW earlier this month and it held my interest for ohh two day's three tops it sucks at some point the game sucks more balls that britney spear's. Now I LOVE age of conan....but yeah if the WoW people want to get technical WoW is a clone of Dark age of camelot or of everquest. since those came before wow (and if we use the WoW gamer's dumbass theory of if it comes out after a came hence it must be a clone)

I think these people should just be ignored already, Making article's like this giving them attention is what they all want and are getting a kick out of. Obviously half of the people that scream WOW clone do it cause they know it annoys people and they love the attention they get from screaming players insulting them.
The only reason why WOW is so main stream is cause of how its projected, Celebrities claim to play it so than it turns into "If William Shatner plays it than it must be best MMO out there." Than the rest are just followers they see people mention it and say its the best mmo out there so now they are going around preaching its the best mmo and they probably have not even played it or played it for little over a month or 2.

Bottom Line, What do you do when a child screams at you to get what he wants? You ignore'em so he learns hes not going to get your attention by screaming and insulting you. Same concept applys to all the "WOW CLONE/WOW's THE BEST" Players.

Well WoW may not be the first or the original, but its one of the best out there. Its not used as a tool for comparison due to people's ignorance on how original it is, but it is used as a tool for comparison due to the standards it set upon the release into the gaming world.

I would wonder why WoW is still "the mmo king"?

First off im not a WoW fan boy, i play it yes, but i do not swear it to be the end all of MMOs, i play plenty of other MMO's which are great. Anyway, to continue from my above question as to why WoW is still at the top of its game is really very simple....Graphics. Sure their outdated, old, stale, but as newer and newer MMO's release with higher system spec's they limit their player base to those who can afford to upgrade their computer. I for one cannot afford to upgrade my computer every year, so instead of upgradeing why not play a game i know i can run and run it well? WAR and Aion both look completely epic, i wish i could play them, but alas i cant run them so i wont even waste my time or money trying. As far as the dumbasses calling every 3rd new MMO a WoW clone, ignore the dumb bastards, obviously they dont have any common sense, dont stoop to their level by lashing out, let the retards be, they will learn sooner or later if enough people ignore their ignorant comments that it doesnt affect people anymore and they'll stop.

Sorry, I felt it may be necessary to start a new comment, as my last had grown rather long. Yes, consumers have grown dumb and have sworn blind allegiance to WoW (Which in my opinion is the stupidest thing anyone can do). They will strike down any other game if it is competing with World of Warcraft in any sense, and they are... unaware of their ignorance and inability to accept new ideas, therefore anything they say on the matter is usually of vanity to the people with the IQ to avoid catching the stupid. I almost feel ashamed sometimes to say I loved World of Warcraft, but I will never deny that I did and still do.

Nothing wrong with loving WoW, as long as you are still openminded and willing to try others too, providing constructive reponse to the [Other Game Title] review on what you think of it, overall gameplay, difficulty, userfriendlyness of the interface or in game systems etc. My experience in WoW was that it is incredibly easy to level up and max a character in comparison to what seems like most other MMOs, as i have seen characters level to max on sometimes a short as 4 weeks, while in other titles that would prove impossible.

well its true that people who call stuff wow clones sure gives a annoying feeling to the mmosite community but there are two types of wow "commentors" the ones who say it to make fun of wow, its oblivious since they add many emocons after the word wow clone or repetition and the ones that are serious about their words. i think i typed a comment about this before as blink x 9000 (i forget which place lol) saying in the just of it that people who say wow clone seriously without thought are like george w bush but also the people who say wow is crap since both of them are the same and i think my point at the end was that people take time and effort in making these so called wow clones and all u do is judge in one glance and afterwards i said be proactive about it instead of just judging things why dont u tell the company on how to change the game into your vision or view which is more postive than shouting at each that wow is crap and wow clone because that causes an endless strife and u act exactly like george bush when he starts war in other countries when he could of used other methods. well sorry for my words being so jumbled up >_< and i hope people understand my words because this land is made of love & peace so just be friendly about it or positive

Yes. I understand everything you are saying. MMO enthusiasts who consider themselve true MMO enthusiasts should be willing to try anything, and provide constructive posts to beta tests and to GMs about issues or areas in a game that they believe could have been done better!

WoW is not original at its very core, though it advanced many features that had existed in many other games, brought them together, placed them in their original plan, and made them easily accessible. It is, in it's own way, a clone of every large predecessor. Using that some idea, every game is a clone of Pong. From an economic sense, World of Warcraft was a move for the best, as was the idea of free-to-play games and creating games for graphics whores. No one can deny that many new games are striving to earn the same success as World of Warcraft had, and they do so by taking pieces of WoW that worked and placing it in their own game. You can't tell me they were doing the so, but taking it from any other game. WoW clones exist, but none have just copy pasted the whole exact game to their own graphics. Whether or not PW is a "WoW Clone" I cannot argue, for I did not play the game long enough to judge it, but you can't say that the developers never once referenced to another game when creating PW, whether it be WoW or not, and trust me, a year is long enough to look at a newly released game and decide that they have a superior interface feature or something of the sort, though I am against simply looking at an interface and deciding a game is a clone.

And something I've learned from experience, the dumbest people are known to have the loudest voices (But those with the loudest voices are not always dumb xD). All games have their angsty teenagers, their rude basement dwellers, etc.

"every game is a clone of Pong." -- lol. Pong is the godfather of electronic games today. As a result of games like Pong, we have the Electronics Sims World Cup, and other major tournaments as well, in wich gaming can become a proffession!

I too get tired of the "WoW wannabe" excuse and I actually play WoW. I don't claim that WoW is the best, though its a matter of opinion - so I can't and won't bash whoever believes so. I see where you're coming from.

Doesn't Matter, when AION comes out dang its going to be kick butt. There graphics is so tight and AIR PVP its going to so cool. PVP Siege in the AIR dang 50 vs 50 so much fun. LOL

It seems this small (yes, really small) problem is a big deal.  If the people online disagree with what you have to say, they will always disagree, but when it comes to a real life face to face, it is easier to change others' minds. WHY? Simply because when you do not actually face the situation you would intend to become better. It's true, but hard to see (and explain).

BTW PERFECT WORLD IS NOT A WoW CLONE!! Lots of people seem to add the lame, and stupid, comment, "WoW Clone!"

People should be forced to login in order to post a response to a game review. That would make innapropriate replies and "WoW Clone" screamers manageable and removable.

Yes, he knows that. But Perfect World development started BEFORE WoW was released and IN CHINA (WoW had a STATE-SIDE release in 2004). Who fails now?

I cut my teeth on L2 (which i guess makes me "prebred") and even I can see that WoW was more original than any other game out at the time, which is why it's cloned my every second MMO and also why it's so popular."

Like I care where you started. WoW was NEVER original. It had basic combat, basic crafting, and basic quests. It did NOTHING new. It was not original. It is popular because it is simple and (due to crappy graphics) easily accesible.

Well I play WoW now and don't see any games has WoW clones, for one, none follow the same story line, and two....there are many other differences, I remember some idiot said something was a WoW clone because it had an action bar...(the little bar where you put your spells and powers and what not) my first ever MMO was RuneScape, I say thats a great game...the community however...ruined it for me, and I have played Perfect World, I did not enjoy it much, if it was a WoW clone, I think I would have enjoyed it, seeing has its suppose to be a clone :P but its not, and I don't see a large percentage of WoW players being agnostic and arrogant.


Also WoW is pretty original, not many MMOs were decent back when it came out, it even had a huge back story, its a great game if you like to RP, I'd like to say its the best MMORPG, I can't say its the best MMO what so ever since...well in the catogory of FPSs or those fighting MMOs (Grand Chase and stuff like that, forget what you call um) but to some its not the best MMORPG and thats fine, I don't really care, but you seem to just be bashing on WoW, kinda like those people who bash on runescape and say it sucks, they are both great games (yeah I know most people say "WoW is better then runescape" so guess its mostly WoW players who bash on that game) and I pretty much agree with Tob, so thats all I have to say.

Even though WoW is hardly original, i wouldn't call it a 'clone'. It just another MMO with more glory than it has earned - predominantly by teenagers!

I know the majority of wow players if you ask them to play some free mmo, they will say it sucks and blah blah and they won't go on the internet to spend 10 minutes writing how WoW is greatest game of all. Only a small group of highly 'intelligent WoW players' will call every game they see a Fail even if no one is telling them to play it.

Yeah work on a bit more research. WoW was released on 2004 because thats when I pretty much lose a bunch of my friends. xDD

there are people who always refer everygame to WoW....its annoying and i can understand that

im not very sure why....some people think it is just a joke, others think the players are completely addicted to WoW and its the only thing on their mind all the time

the rant is valid but id say you could have gotten a better comparison
