everyone has their own point of view on things i guess..when i was a emotional nerd when i was in highschool, the popular girls always tried to bully me. but i didn't care.. hehehe school is important too, just imagine if there were no school there will be chaos i mean people will never know what's right from wrong. i'm actually glad i was bullied before in highschool, because of that i learned how to be much stronger, i learned how to make friends, i learned to be more confident about myself , i learned how to be strong.. i had fun ^_^

i think without school life would be boring.. we may be safe and secured if we were homeschooled but if it would always be like that we will never learn to grow up... ^_^

There is always the option of being homeschooled if you don't like the public school environment. There are also private schools as well. I think the failure lies with parents because they simply aren't giving their children the chance to choose for themselves.

I personally think that the educational system in quite a few countries needs to be substantially revamped or reinvented to allow students more freedom of choice regarding what it is they wish to learn, where they wish to learn, how they wish to learn, and to what extent. Not only that, but colleges need to stop being so incredibly expensive, or have relatively affordable alternatives sponsored by the local or national government.

I really liked your article xD But I think you meant school's social life not school itself lol. Yeah I was one of those depressed people. Problem was I had so much stress at home, and in school I had friends and hang out more often. It's just having stressed everywhere you go kinda sucks T__T Only videogames helped me relax every now and then.

Well I do get your point etc..., but as someone before me said... If you did'nt have to go to school would you really learn at home? I thought about that a lot, it would be much more efficient and with the world wide web no information is impossible to get and if you can't find it just head over to a library or something. But seriously I doubt that many people would do it so I think its better that you have to go to school.

And about being bullied and etc... It's not a good idea to run away and play games if you can't handle life. Sooner or later you will have to so it's better you get prepared for it in school... And if your a loser and suck @ life I have a good book that I recommend for you 'How to be an Alpha Male' (ignore the shitty title and cover, seriously its a good book).

I"m currently a college student, and I would definately say that while High School doesn't seem important while you're in it, afterwards, you realize just how much high school prepares you for college and later life.  Honestly, if you're a loner, a geek, or just a really awkward kid in high school, even though it's hard at the time, just ignore all that and focus on LEARNING.  I realize there's not a lot of emphasis on learning nowadays in school, but if you do it, you'll get to college, and people will realize your smart, and not just some dumb a*hole who got through High School because he was on the football team.  In college people tend to be less judgemental, and you'll find more people who share the same interests as you, regardless of how esoteric or bizarre they may be.  You may not believe it, but it's true.  I've been through it all.  I spent a lot of High School agonizing over the fact that people thought I was weird, or geeky, now I've got tons of friends from college who are just like me, or even weirder.  School is hard, but just don't lose faith, and focus on what matters most.

I wasn't that good in school (Behavior-wise). So I got into a lot of trouble/suspended/in-school suspension. As much as I hated it. I do regret "Giving up" and dropping out on it. Not because I didn't get a piece of paper saying "Congratulations!!! You've earned a High School Diploma" or w/e . I just should have used my time to make better people skills. They told me that I lashed out to get attention. I wanted attention to make the other kids like me. After I hit 11th grade I was lacking in my studies I had pretty much hit a brick wall in life or so I felt. I was kicked out of my normal (home) school and forced to go to an alternative school. I was sick and tired of being fed the same books over and over the years. The texts never changed no new challenge was given to me. So I decided to quit and my father didn't oppose he advised me against it but said he wouldn't hold it against me that it was my choice to make.

So the TV tells me I can't have a 6+ figure job. Whatever I say. At least I have a *job* at this point and I haven't been without one ever because of my choice. I now do a "job/career" some would probably hold their nose upto but I'm not ashamed because it's a vital job that someone has to do. (I'm a trashman lulz xD) But I'm up and done with my job in such a short time and paid for full so it all works out + the benifits are amazing as well as the obvious FREE stuff. Anyways I'm ranting and this is a hell of a post to probably just get bumped off. But you did such a nice job writing I wanted to give something back.

the only reason i go t oschool is cuz i dun wanna be a retard, i couldn't care less about the popular ppl in my school they always start stuff ._. get my arse kicked  i'm one of those ppl where I can go all day in school w/o saying a word  which is what a mostly do but I still make friends and stuff so it helps me get through the day ;.; ....hate school so much.....

Most people would use that time doing other things, things that they actually want to do. the only reason highschool exists is to prepare you to GET INTO college. After that, it's useless. And yes: school is useless in the aspect that it exists as a place of learning. It's a misconception that you learn in school. School's there to prepare people not to get out of line in society.

schools fun if u dont hate ur teachers but it does get annoying sometimes and for people gettin buillied u can ignore the bully or stand up to em say something thats what i do =P
