Hello, I've been working on my Mabinogi comic for a while, I finally finished it. I know it looks amateurish but hopefully I will get better at it with time. ![]() ![]() [Click image to see it full size] |

Defending Free To PlayCategory: General mmorpg's Posted on 2008-03-22 06:38:17 Add to Bookmark |

Lately I've been reading more and more complaints about players that just seem to hate the Free to Play model. I see it everywhere, in the forums, in the blog, in my cereal. And I'm sick tired of it. I keep reading and I never get to the part of someone replying "Oh no man Free to Play is really cool I like it .." No, the rest is just people nodding and as usual throwing in additional complaints of their own. Well I think Free To Play needs a lawyer, and since I would go down defending it, here is my effort on paying Free To Play back for all the fun that I've had.
Start Curiosity was what brought me to online games, I had heard about World of Warcraft, but since I couldn't afford it, I didn't even google it. Later, I saw more and more references to online games from the TV series I watched and gaming websites, and I became inevitably more curious by the hour. One day when I finally embarked on the quest to play online I saw "Free to Play!" on a web banner and I thought to myself "There is hope!!". I kept browsing and I found Rose Online, I downloaded and played for a while, but later I read the website more carefully an |

Magic World Online ReviewCategory: Upcoming Games Posted on 2008-03-21 01:46:46 Add to Bookmark |

Updated on April 17, 2008 Game Title: Magic World Online Genre: MMORPG Status: Closed Beta Developer: Goldcool Games Publisher: Ingle Games Ltd. Official Website:http://mwo.enjoymmo.com/ Client size: 4GB Client Download:http://mwo.enjoymmo.com/ System Requirements: CPU:Pentium 3 1GMHz RAM:256M Hard Drive:> 5G Video card:> 16M Video Ram System:Windows98 and above,Vista Compatible DirectX 8.0 and above Network: 56K Modem Comparison: It looks similar to Eudemons, Conquer Online, Diablo 2, and Justice Xwar 2. First impression: When you login for the first time you don't get any kind of introduction to the game, I got directly from the login screen to character creation menu, there are four classes, two factions and you can choose a male or female character. I was hesitant to choose either of the factions, because I had no information to determine the difference between them. However, I chose Dynasty mostly because I liked the sound of it. I started in the forest, the in-game tutorial is very clear ,it has pictures and the font is readable. Exploring is a bit tricky, because you can't see much ahead, the map is your best friend, and as for me the primary navigation mode. Graphics [ |

My Number is Bigger than YoursCategory: General mmorpg's Posted on 2008-03-13 12:12:48 Add to Bookmark |

How many people buy things they think they need and they don’t read the label? My guess is plenty, and I see it more and more in the MMO genre. MMOs are not a trend, or should be considered as something that will fade out anytime soon. Games like Ultima, World of Warcraft, and Everquest have popularized the genre by having a large amount of players. But that doesn't mean it's for everybody.
Experience vs Content
"I hate grinding", "This quests are boring", "There is nothing to do after level 70" do any of these phrases sound familiar? I bet they do. As consumers we get more picky when we have many choices. We raise our standards rapidly, and we demand lower cost for our entertainment. We indulge in complaining to the game developers the game publishers and anybody else behind the game.
From the point of view of a game developer/designer designing a perfect five star game is a nightmare. We are like little children, we are mean, and nothing ever pleases us. Sometimes we cry for an expensive luxurious toy, and when we get it we prefer to play with the empty box where it came in.
So, how do you please one million customers? first |

Geography Lessons For FilePlanetCategory: Upcoming Games Posted on 2008-03-05 09:12:24 Add to Bookmark |

<rant> I have waited so long to give Mabinogi a try. I watched all of the trailers and read all of Hyuk's guides. I've tried to distract myself with other MMOs but mehh, who am I kidding?I want to play it soo badly.
So after being very patient today I downloaded the client, I had already registered my account and I a proceeded to the routine struggle with gameguard to make the game work. I think gameguard is a device that guards you from running the game in your first attempt. But oh well, I'll save my bullets for gameguard, because they need a post of their own.
Long story short, FilePlanet made a deal with Nexon and got the first 24 hours of the game exclusively for "North American" members of their Free MMO Club in their words: "Free-To-Play Online Games with Bonus content for Suscribers". It doesn't even sound good…Anyway, I was just desperate to try this game, so I signed up for an account with my "Spam me,I don't check it anyway"-email and click through the activations like fire to get my open beta key.
That was when the ordeal begun, this is what I got: ![]() In case you haven't read my About Page, I am from Mexico and we are a part of N |

MMOSite 3D Logo!Category: Development Posted on 2008-03-01 12:42:17 Add to Bookmark |

| Since I joined MMOSite Game Blogs on November of last year there have been a lot of changes and updates on the MMOSite Space area. When I joined I honestly had no idea what it was for, I just thought it was just another networking toy. I wrote some posts mainly to vent some thoughts that had been lingering on my head. I got to make some friends really quick and I enjoyed checking my blogspace more often. Something that I like a lot about MMOSite Game Blogs is that I found something that I was missing. I made some blogs in the popular networking sites, but just writing about life and random topics quickly bored me away. I have been on the MMOSite forums a bit, but I am not a fan of skipping over signatures that occupy half the screen and/or have distracting animations. Here is some fan art that I made, because some of us play MMOs in 3D, well we need a 3D MMOSite! ![]() ![]() ![]() It doesn't matter if you are new, or a veteran player; MMOSite has something for you. The MMOsite staff has done a great job a updating and moderating Game Blogs, if you are enjoying it as much as I am, invite a friend, or make your creative contribution by making some good material. As long as new games keep coming, we |
