For one MMORPG I would not mention by name it took me 15 minutes afterI have downloaded it to fabricate a self-made program to automatically kill monsters for 30 minutes, sit to heal, and finally start the cycle all over again. Why did I do it? Well I was bored to death with the game, and whenever I hear "Auto-Target" I hear: "Make a script and go eat dinner".

I have played games that have anti-hacking protection integrated in them, and it is just a delay, but never a definite end to hackers. GameGuard is one programs that some MMORPGs have to prevent hacking, yet whenever I'm playing Gunz, there is a speed hacker or a HP hacker in the room I go in. And if that wasn't enough, whenever I try to change the server I am in I get a:

" A Hacking attempt was detected, the program will now close"

What?! I was just changing servers!!

What is a Hacker

Contrary to popular consensus according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary a hacker is:

3 : an expert at programming and solving problems with a computer

4 : a person who illegally gains access to and sometimes tampers with information in a computer system

Nowadays role players in online games are starting to become more and more rare. The virtual worlds are thriving in people hungry to level up and acquire power than fromplayers who are actually enjoying the game content. It is for example like the cell phone industry, now teenagers care more about how much luxury their cell phone provides than what important things are they going to talk about when using it.

But don't I care about new ground breaking in-game options? Of course I do, I just care if they have a real meaningful purpose. Some games that I have played or that I have talked about with my friends have a recurring trend. They have the game story as their weak point, either it is meaningless to the game, or it just doesn’t make sense at all.

Some History

Some of the first role playing games were pen and paper based, and for the horror of graphic lovers even computer text based. Then what happened? at what point in time we stopped caring about role playing and became obsessed with leveling?.I believe some of this questions are age based. So it is the end of the year my girlfriend is very happy, and hence I'm happy. Based on the games I played this year I'm going to make a MMORPG blender to see what comes out.

What are my evil plans? Well I'm going to take what I liked from the MMO's I played and blend it and see what comes out.

The Blood Elfs from World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, what can I say, they look very stylish. Male elves look really regal and tough, hair styles are very cool. And the female elves are very sexy, they are not half naked as in most of the MMORPGs but I liked them the most.

Wait a minute, I'm a very smart person and I like games, I don't need CesarSuki to tell me how to choose my own freakin' games!. Well yes you are right, but MMORPGs are a big deal, and don't worry nobody is going to know that you read this.




This is not a fool-proof guide on selecting a MMO but hopefully it might help you learn a few pointers you must watch out for.

Theme

So what do you want to be? A quiet elf living in a mythical world? A brave knight that fights humongous monsters? how about a captain of a space ship?




There are a wide variety of themes to choose, and usually plenty of games in every category. There are also games specifically for a more mature audience like 2Moons where chat is not filtered and you can curse until your fingers hurt (the NPCs will treat you like trash, but anyway....).





Even if you are looking for a game for your child, beware that childish looking games have plenty of older, even senior, players in it. So follow the steps below to make sure your child doesn't get bullied or other bad stuff.





Consider your theme to be the starting point of your quest to find your MMORPG.

Finally school is OUT, I asked my fellow Computer Science classmates what mmo should we play were we could kill each other during vacations. Since me and Igriss are the experts, I suggested first racing or a shooter, I suggested Gunz for a shooter and Upshift Strike Racer, I had played Strike Racer before, so it would be unfair for them (muahahhahaah). So we picked up Gunz, which I have never played before.

Installed and after doing some modifications I got it to run properly, I logged in and created my nice male char with 2 big revolvers.

I entered Quest 5 , and just entered a random room. As usual I didn't even bother to read the game basics, so I just went in and started shooting people. We had some fun playing, and I played the next day. One thing this game has is that it keeps me excited every second of gameplay, which is very cool.

After I read some game basics from the official site I started doing some strategies I'm used to from Ghost Recon and Call of Duty, and I advanced pretty well. But then I got called sprayer, and a whole bunch of names I had no idea what the heck. I tried for a clan, and my web dev credentials got me in, even though I'm still a noo

Lust

In case you haven't been to the news section of mmosite then breaking news, adult mmorpg's are here. Of course is not enough to look up the skirts of other players' virtual avatars, now you can have sex with them with your virtual avatar on the center of the most populated town in the game.

There was a recent article in mmosite, that talked about a pedophile ring in Second-Life where underage avatars perfomed sexual acts for a price.

Gluttony

This guys just can't get enough, wither it is gathering resources until they need to make mule accounts to hold their ever-growing inventory or just buying their item of choice out of every player in the market; they just can't have enough. They rarely ever spend on anything, they rather sit for 10 minutes while their health/mana recovers than spending  2 potions.

Greed

Money, it doesn't matter if your game calls it Adena, Penya, Gold, Coins, Dalant, the more these guys have the better. There are guilds made based on a in-game business model, where their main mission is to make gold.

Sloth

When you deploy an online game, you will need a server that will process all the world changes, and will provide each client (player) with the static world. When your game program is sloppy, even if there are few people logged in the server there would be lag. There are providers with dedicated servers, they charge around $200 Dlls a month plus a setup fee. For launching a commercial game, it might take hundreds of servers to maintain an even player/server distribution. Imagine the entire 9 million WoW players jam-packed into 10 servers.

Quests

Content sometimes is a reason for debate between players, but nevertheless is a vital part of the role playing experience of your players. Think about what would happen if you made 90% if your quests in the form “Kill X number of Y type of mob and then come claim your reward”, this is where your creative member of the team, or your own creativity plays an important part.

Economy

Trust me, even writing the title of this section made me yawn. Even if you are not a merchant type of player, you will have to deal with the economy balance. I’m certainly not going to going into economy design details, but you have to keep this in mind. Th
