Back in the day the F word was almost unheard of when people spoke about online gaming. But as time has gone by the words has become almost common place. And players use it to talk about everything. Some small companies use it all over their websites, and other more serious companies like Blizzard or NCsoft don't use it almost at all in their products.
There are posts everyday in every single forum with the F word in its header. And there are flashing banners in every website with the word on it.
When I first saw it I must confess I was truly excited, I was completely sold to the idea and I have even stood by the F word. And later it stopped meaning something cool and turned into something annoying and desperate. They now use it almost for everything and I think they should use a similar term rather than keep recycling it over and over again.
Nowadays I get mixed feelings when I hear it: "Oh no, here we go again" "That's great!" "F*** really?!"
Even though the F word is easier to re

What is it?
The Halo Effect is an association of one trait to another set of trades, it is closely related to the implicit personality theory. It is a very interesting phenomenon that takes place in our every day life. We do it all the time, mostly without noticing that we are. "You can't judge a book by it's cover" Ok maybe not, but we do it all the time with people don't we? One of the experiments that clearly show us the halo effect was one I saw on TV a long time ago, it goes like this: Two people with the same resume go to an interview with the same employer the difference between the two applicants is that one is clearly better good looking, better dressed and well groomed than the other one. The employer had no knowledge of this experiment being done, and after the interviews took place, the better looking person was called and offered the job. Now, what can we say about this? could you file a claim against an employer for discriminating your looks? I think not. But for the second experiment, they used elementary school kids, they introduced two "substitute teachers" for one class only, again one of them more good looking than the other

Lately I've been reading more and more complaints about players that just seem to hate the Free to Play model. I see it everywhere, in the forums, in the blog, in my cereal. And I'm sick tired of it. I keep reading and I never get to the part of someone replying "Oh no man Free to Play is really cool I like it .." No, the rest is just people nodding and as usual throwing in additional complaints of their own. Well I think Free To Play needs a lawyer, and since I would go down defending it, here is my effort on paying Free To Play back for all the fun that I've had.
Start Curiosity was what brought me to online games, I had heard about World of Warcraft, but since I couldn't afford it, I didn't even google it. Later, I saw more and more references to online games from the TV series I watched and gaming websites, and I became inevitably more curious by the hour. One day when I finally embarked on the quest to play online I saw "Free to Play!" on a web banner and I thought to myself "There is hope!!". I kept browsing and I found Rose Online, I downloaded and played for a while, but later I read the website more carefully an

How many people buy things they think they need and they don’t read the label? My guess is plenty, and I see it more and more in the MMO genre. MMOs are not a trend, or should be considered as something that will fade out anytime soon. Games like Ultima, World of Warcraft, and Everquest have popularized the genre by having a large amount of players. But that doesn't mean it's for everybody. Experience vs Content "I hate grinding", "This quests are boring", "There is nothing to do after level 70" do any of these phrases sound familiar? I bet they do. As consumers we get more picky when we have many choices. We raise our standards rapidly, and we demand lower cost for our entertainment. We indulge in complaining to the game developers the game publishers and anybody else behind the game.
From the point of view of a game developer/designer designing a perfect five star game is a nightmare. We are like little children, we are mean, and nothing ever pleases us. Sometimes we cry for an expensive luxurious toy, and when we get it we prefer to play with the empty box where it came in. So, how do you please one million customers? first

I have waited so long to give Mabinogi a try. I watched all of the trailers and read all of Hyuk's guides. I've tried to distract myself with other MMOs but mehh, who am I kidding?I want to play it soo badly.
So after being very patient today I downloaded the client, I had already registered my account and I a proceeded to the routine struggle with gameguard to make the game work. I think gameguard is a device that guards you from running the game in your first attempt. But oh well, I'll save my bullets for gameguard, because they need a post of their own.
Long story short, FilePlanet made a deal with Nexon and got the first 24 hours of the game exclusively for "North American" members of their Free MMO Club in their words: "Free-To-Play Online Games with Bonus content for Suscribers". It doesn't even sound good…Anyway, I was just desperate to try this game, so I signed up for an account with my "Spam me,I don't check it anyway"-email and click through the activations like fire to get my open beta key. That was when the ordeal begun, this is what I got: In case you haven't read my About Page, I am from Mexico and we are a part of N

Since I joined MMOSite Game Blogs on November of last year there have been a lot of changes and updates on the MMOSite Space area. When I joined I honestly had no idea what it was for, I just thought it was just another networking toy. I wrote some posts mainly to vent some thoughts that had been lingering on my head. I got to make some friends really quick and I enjoyed checking my blogspace more often. Something that I like a lot about MMOSite Game Blogs is that I found something that I was missing. I made some blogs in the popular networking sites, but just writing about life and random topics quickly bored me away. I have been on the MMOSite forums a bit, but I am not a fan of skipping over signatures that occupy half the screen and/or have distracting animations. Here is some fan art that I made, because some of us play MMOs in 3D, well we need a 3D MMOSite! It doesn't matter if you are new, or a veteran player; MMOSite has something for you. The MMOsite staff has done a great job a updating and moderating Game Blogs, if you are enjoying it as much as I am, invite a friend, or make your creative contribution by making some good material. As long as new games keep coming, we
