Last week was a long one for me, I worked very hard, and a lot of things went wrong. During the week I became very excited because I learned about Infinity Online because of Platy's post. I went to the website, and the classes were very eye catching to me. Even though I don't get very hyped about games very often I did for Infinity Online.
I got a CB key and I registered my account, I was very happy and waited patiently for my client to download. Soon I will find out I couldn't play because there is an IP ban on American countries. I was very annoyed and decided I wouldn't have any of it. So I got on an airplane and arrived in France, bought an apartment and enrolled in the Ecole Pour l'Informatique et les Techniques Avanc茅e. Then I turned on my computer and played while watching the Eiffel Tower through my window.....Well that pretty much happened when I was planning on how to play... but I found another solution that didn't involve leaving home.

Welcome To Infinity Online
The first thing that got me from Infinity is the music, most games' music are not very in connection with the game theme itself, but with Infinity this is not a problem.
One of the things you must be careful however is that the first time you login it is going to ask you for your nickname I usually name them my characters something different each. But in Infinity you will have one nickname and with that same you will be able to choose any of the available characters.
I went at first with the Juru class, I just couldn鈥檛 resist the little girl with the big axe.

My first Minutes of Gameplay
I thought at first that Infinity was a free to roam game, but after inspecting the interface that I was shown after I entered my nickname I realized it is instance-based. I did the tutorials first, and as I learned the moves I felt like it was sort of a combination of Gunz plus a dancing game, where you have to enter certain commands in order. I liked that you can double tap the arrow keys in any direction to make a quick movement. It really helps when you have 15 monsters in front of you and you need some space to breathe.
"Action is the key of Infinity where graphic effects are resulting of your extraordinary fighting combos."
I joined one of the first quests with a group of three other people, every room can hold only four in Quest mode. There was a short intro to the quest where you see the four main characters of the game interact with the 鈥渆vil鈥 guys, and then you start the fight. This animation can be skipped, but only the person who made the room can skip it. This story telling form reminded me a bit of Lunia, but I liked Infinity better because you see the actual 3D characters instead of the sliding 2D in Lunia.
When the quest started it was very nice that we all had a common goal and the thing we had to protect had a life bar. We all made our part in covering the area so that the bad guys didn鈥檛 reach our treasure. The chatting on Infinity is made mostly while you are waiting for the quest to start, or when the animations are playing. There is a add friend feature that you can use by clicking in the community button.
In the second part of our quest, we had to defeat a boss, plus an ever respawning set of soldiers. The boss was really hard, and once it sets his eyes on you, you will have a hard time trying to shake him off. I had a bad start because he sort of threw me into the water, and funny thing, even though I had my HP full I died. Afterwards my char turned into a little ghost because I decided not to use a resurrection scroll, and I could just float around and watch the other people fight.

Character Customization
In infinity you can't change your avatar's face among other common features, but you can add some nice details like hair color and some accessories. You can also purchase more characters in addition to the four you start with.
There are no classes inside the game, and there is no ranged attacks. The way that each character is different in attacking abilities is their damage, range, and speed.
Game Modes
The modes are Single Player (Training), Multiplayer(Questing), and Matches.
In single player mode you can practice your skills and train with 1 or 10 dummy NPCs, you can set them to stand, move around, attack(Easy, Medium, or hard). You don't win or lose anything in this mode, its for mere practice.
In multiplayer mode, as I mention above, you can play with 3 other players to complete certain quests. You can try making these quests by yourself, but it is going to be very hard if you have a low level character to wipe out an army and then take out the boss with the same HP.
I didn't have the chance to enter match mode, mainly because my character is only level 2, and I am still practicing my combos :P. These are some of the Match modes Team/Free for all Army match, Team/Free for all Death Match.

My 2 Cents
I had a really fun time playing these past days. I like that you can zoom in and out of your character, it makes you feel more like you are inside the battle. The players I met where all really friendly and I enjoyed the scenery. The loading screens are really modern and it even says you can use a gamepad and feel some vibrations (I have yet to try that). Infinity Online is a very lightweight casual-friendly game I wouldn't mind playing during the week, it has missions that take a reasonable time to complete, and slaying the monsters can be fun. Because you don't just point and click, there is more than 15 ways you can slay the mobs.
