Gator Camp

Innova Gameworks and Animations proudly presents:
A short film done with XSI to promote UTEP's Gator Camp event at New Student Orientation.

Innova
Imagination and ideas in motion

Creativity with meaning

We are not just passionate about creating, but we are also fond of conveying a meaningful message to our target audience.

Our Goals

To create a united organization capable of carrying over projects from start to finish using 3d modeling and animation, as well as game development.

Creating cutting edge visual material together with creative ideas to narrate stories never heard before. To prepare ourselves to be able to work in the industry and to be able to use the tools available to us to the maximum of their capacity.

To help members seeking a gaming career understand how the industry works and how it is changing.

Current Project

Right now we are working on our first animated short, it has progressed significantly and we are working steadily towards its completion.

2 Digg it    MMOSite 3D Logo!

Since I joined MMOSite Game Blogs on November of last year there have been a lot of changes and updates on the MMOSite Space area. When I joined I honestly had no idea what it was for, I just thought it was just another networking toy. I wrote some posts mainly to vent some thoughts that had been lingering on my head. I got to make some friends really quick and I enjoyed checking my blogspace more often.

Something that I like a lot about MMOSite Game Blogs is that I found something that I was missing. I made some blogs in the popular networking sites, but just writing about life and random topics quickly bored me away. I have been on the MMOSite forums a bit, but I am not a fan of skipping over signatures that occupy half the screen and/or have distracting animations.

Here is some fan art that I made, because some of us play MMOs in 3D, well we need a 3D MMOSite!

It doesn't matter if you are new, or a veteran player; MMOSite has something for you. The MMOsite staff has done a great job a updating and moderating Game Blogs, if you are enjoying it as much as I am, invite a friend, or make your creative contribution by making some good material.

As long as new games keep coming, we

Servers

When you deploy an online game, you will need a server that will process all the world changes, and will provide each client (player) with the static world. When your game program is sloppy, even if there are few people logged in the server there would be lag. There are providers with dedicated servers, they charge around $200 Dlls a month plus a setup fee. For launching a commercial game, it might take hundreds of servers to maintain an even player/server distribution. Imagine the entire 9 million WoW players jam-packed into 10 servers.

Servers

Quests

Content sometimes is a reason for debate between players, but nevertheless is a vital part of the role playing experience of your players. Think about what would happen if you made 90% if your quests in the form “Kill X number of Y type of mob and then come claim your reward”, this is where your creative member of the team, or your own creativity plays an important part.

Economy

Trust me, even writing the title of this section made me yawn. Even if you are not a merchant type of player, you will have to deal with the economy balance. I’m certainly not going to going into economy design details, but you have to keep this in mind. Th

IF you have looked for F2P MMOs for a while you have noticed that maybe about 80% of them are based on Chinese mythology in some way, don't take it the wrong way, I do think it is interesting. Nevertheless,  I am astounded as how much native Chinese gamers enjoy it so much, I guess they seriously embrace their culture and their heritage.

Bandera

So I have come to the conclusion that I am going to write my own Mexican MMORPG  that I can play with my friends. Where I can be myself and embrace my heritage.

Introduction

Through several months of mmorpg forum skimming I've come across the same sentence quite a few times, and since I am an evil minion I believe it is my duty to open the eyes of these players, which I presume are young and did not even mind Googling it at least.

They say:

"I want to make my own games, I want to make something like/better than WoW".

"I want to make games", it almost sounds fun just to say it, but lets face it, it's easier said than done. Well, now that you know why I am writing this, let's get started shall we?

Sketch

Design

Just like any other Hollywood Movie, game creation starts at the storyboard, here is where the brainstorming begins. First you have to decide what theme is the game going to have, is it going to be a Sci-Fi shooter, a War shooter, an urban thief, or perhaps a fantasy world with huge dragons and titanic castles.

The artists make several sketches, and develop each character. They also design the architecture of the buildings and all the items we find inside a game. The artist then make rotoscopes, these are what 3D artists use as a base to design their models. The basic building block for a model is called a polygon,
