So "furiosknight" (I sure hope that ain't a typo!) commented in my previous article:
"a good game is a game that you like, not what other say... i know it's hard to follow this because other's opinions always seem to be important... "4 sum odd" reason."
and it hit me!
Do the masses even KNOW why fanbois fight for their game, and desperately try to fend away trolls and the like?

Personal Outlook In Life: If you are fighting strongly AGAINST a game, for example, World of Warcraft, with little to no legitimate reason, and do so publicly like on the forums or by commenting, you are deemed a troll to me. Yeah. The ugly ones. More ugly then those in Everquest 2.
Assurance
This is pretty much the core of the matter. As human beings, few can actually set out to do something, without the moral support of people around him.
So, taking a gaming community like MMOsite into context;
Having other community members support a fanboi in his game, even if it's a "Yes, it's good." gives him a sense of assurance. Assurance for what, you might ask.
The assurance that the game he is playing is socially (at least in the context of MMOsite) acceptable.
Personal Defence: I still do think that 80% of cookie cutter korean MMOs suck.
Trolls
What about trolls then? Why all the hate from them? Are they actually anti-social then? Not really. Same thing applies for them. Like a debate, an issue, or a decision, there are always two sides. They may be a right or wrong, good or evil, and there may not be. But as long as everyone is entitled to his own free thought, they will gravitate to a side.
So, these trolls have just gravitated to the opposing side. And they do what they do for the exact same results as a fanboi. They are seeking assurance that the game they are not playing/hate IS indeed bad/lousy/crappy/whatever.
Personal Opinion: But it still doesn't make you any less of an ugly stinking troll.
But Of Course...
These is but just one point. It would take more then just an article (well, maybe a 100) to cover every aspect of why fanbois and trolls exist. They all need the assurance that what they are doing is acceptable by a decent population of their community. They need the assurance that they are indeed playing a fun game/not playing a crappy game.
And what happens if they don't have it? Human beings are persistant by nature as well. We try to convince people to like what we like. Thus, we try to convince people to like our game, or hate that game.
In a nutshell, what we have here, is but a tiny representation of what happens in the world out there.
Personal Comment: Sometimes, I wish that the conflicts in the world out there is as simple and benign as it is here.
Uh...
So where am I getting with this? Well, patience young grasshopper. There is much to learn from this.
1) You can't stop the "OMG WOW IS LIEK OMG AWESOME " nor the "OMG WOW IS LIEK OMG TEH SUK" or the "OMG WOW CLONE" nor the "BUT IT LUK GUD. I HAF FUN WIF IT."... you get my point.
2) Neither do I wish to stop it. Really. The day such debates stop is the day my global mind device made up of a frying pan and some wires work. Until then, I wish mental simulation. I wish for people to systematically disect a game, point out it's goods and bads, and debate on changes that could possibly be for the better of the game.
3) HOWEVER, I do wish that someday, the usual banter like that of point #1 could evolve into something more intelligent.
Maybe it's a fool's dream, but hey, it's always worth dreaming for something isn't it?
Leaving Comment: It IS a dream worth dreaming. Is it? HUH? IS IT? NOD YOUR HEAD. NOW. OR SO HELP ME GOD I'LL...
