The latest EVE Online expansion will come to you, sci-fi fans!! I' ve played the game for a few days and found that it was quite different from the other popular MMOs. Not only because of the amazing universe scenes but also because of your unique feeling - in the game, you will find that you were the center of the universe!! I don' t know whether i have enough time to play such a real - time - training MMO, but i think the fifth expansion must rock your life.

Here is the teaser: http://video.mmosite.com/display.php?vid=6710&gid=8

News from gamespot:

The fifth expansion pack for CCP's sci-fi massively multiplayer online role-playing game EVE Online has been dated for December 5. Trinity will add a new graphics engine, and all ships, stations, and stargates have been reconstructed using new lighting models and surfaces to make them appear more detailed and realistic.

EVE Online: Trinity will also add new missions, items, and ships to the gameworld.

Despite plenty of good news for NCsoft in the past couple of weeks (acquiring new IP and Tabula Rasa finally going live for all the non pre-order people), some of the higher ups are expressing doubt over the future of NCsoft in the gaming world: The Korea Times reports on one of NCsoft's new directions, and while it's still in the virtual realm, it's a definite shift away from gaming, moving towards social networking and the like.

The reasons? A quickly declining stock price, a plateau in the Korean game market (and a declining subscriber base for the Lineage games), and somewhat lukewarm response to their other gaming ventures:

Korea's largest game company this year has released a series of social-networking services from Openmaru, an in-house software studio, with strong support from its CEO Kim Taek-jin. Meanwhile, its stock price almost halved over the past two months, as investors raised doubt about the prospect of its online games business.

CEO Kim said Wednesday that the firm will increase investment in the online services sector, which is dominated by big portal operators such as Naver, Daum and SK Communications.

"After games, the Internet has become my new dream,'' h

Think about it, can you imagine that nearly 10 million players from  every corner of the world play a same MMOrpg, and what' s more, you are one of the massive account players? Gamasutra is reporting that, along with Vivendi's ever-increasing earnings, recent information has been released updating the current player stats for World of Warcraft. Despite suspicions of falling numbers due to the long wait between now and Rise of the Lich King, Blizzard's Massive title is larger than ever, with some 9.3 million players.

"Vivendi has chalked up the increase not only to its WoW subscriber base, but the release of its The Burning Crusade expansion, which saw release in China in the latter part of the third quarter ... The company also noted that its subscriber base has continued to grow from the 9 million mark it celebrated in July to more than 9.3 million, which it says is up more than one million subscribers since December 31 of last year."

I played WOW for a few days till one day i found that some words in the in-game chat being transformed to garbled code, i know, there must be some key words  touched off  the in-game filter system then were banned.

Oh It may be the unique gaming experience only for players in China.

As i know, many games (such as WOW, Auditon, etc. ) in China have this chat filter in order to keep every player away from curse, slander, four-letter word or something. But there're some other words were banned for the reasons you cannot comprehend, if so many words you cannot use to chat with others, can you still communicate with your playmates normally?

Maybe i overdid my intension, because now many other players have begin to have fun with this special system, they tried every possible keyword they could imagine to test if it was banned by the system, and everyday they got new surprising discoveries. They found not only dirty words, but also state leader's name, name of publisher's competitors, and even in-common-used words such as: "system", "announcement", "Tibet"...- all of these - would be banned if you input them to the in-game chat. Then they collecte
